I reckon the Eagles will go backwards and it wouldn't surprise me if North do too especially if injury hits the wrong sort of player where we have no depth.
For eg if O'Hara goes down we'll be trusting 1 or 2 ruckmen who haven't played league footy regularly if at all.

You only hope the Eagles go backwards wedgie. I'm predicting we play another prelim at least.

Don't hope that at all mate, I'd be quite happy beating them twice in the finals every year.

I think the big improver will be Glenelg & no doubt West & maybe Norwood?
Centrals will be up there agaaaain!

Westies would have to be the contender for the most improved side having gotten a first class coach and a number of top recruits into the club from their zones, the AFL and the VFL.

Glenelg seemed to build momentum towards the end of the season and one would think that they would go further up the ladder.

Sturt were tipped by most people in here to win the spoon and ended up playing in the finals with a list that many considered average, so I wont be surprised if they too go further.

Central - can they get any better, I would like to say no, yet have a rather ominous feeling that they will be there again in 2008!

South - although we havent recruited a large number of players I think that is a positive for the club, we still have a number of recruited players from the previous season on our list giving Jack plenty to work with. The crux for the year for the Panthers will be if they are no wins and eight losses and the result is the usual knives out for the coach. If we get into that spiral again we stand a good chance of making sure we will win the spoon for a number of years yet. Irrespective of the result Jack has to have the absolute 100% commitment of the club. The situation with Pyman being sacked after "losing the support of the players" who the club stood back and allowed to happen was and is an absolute disgrace. This is the main area though that I feel that we will improve on and I feel that it will result in a significantly more competitive team on the field.

Port showed faith in their coach and gave him another go, I hope that the players of the club respond in like manner. Port often are picked against as people hope to see them lose, yet they have a stubborn way of winning when it seems that all the chips are down and as far as the popularity of the SANFL is concerned a Central vs Port Grand Final would really be something to see happen!

Eagles recruited some players from South, will be interesting to see how they go and what Ron Fuller sees in them! Still Gary Ablett was sacked from Hawthorn and went on to be the greatest player in the history of the AFL at Geelong, so we will see I suppose!

North appear to have made a relitivley equal loss and gain of players depending on if they set up any more contracts before the start of the season. I cant see them going backwards though, so they may well get another go, depending on what type of improvement those that finished outside of the five make.

Norwood have recuited well, plenty of people are questioning Doyles ability to finish the season without injury, yet I dont think that Norwood would have recruited him if they genuinley felt that would be an issue, if Doyle sparks up he could well be a chance to win the Magary, so Norwood could well be the dark horse in the mix!

few things Ive heard from down there, add the second year blues from many of their players that played out of their skin last season....Ruck will be a huge issue if Feasty goes down or struggles, Forward line is excellent but defence is a worry

Have to disagree with players playing out of there skin - our best players played very well last year and generally if ya best players are playin well you will win more than ya lose !!!

Do agree that we will be reliant on Feasty in the ruck but if he stays fit there aint nothin for us to worry about ( except maybe if hes lining up for goal )

Its hard to see massive changes in the ladder - altho there's a few ins and outs there doesn't seem to be enough changes to easily pick a team to charge up the ladder .... or drop a lot

I wish these threads would wait until all the ins and outs are confirmed tho!
