Prospect Oval - lots of North supporters and friends and I get to dance there
Noarlunga Oval - Lots of room to kick the football and play
Richmond - Best BBQ and lots of room to play
Woodville Oval - Lots of grass and lots of room to play and I liked the free donuts :D
Norwood Oval - Nice underground cafe but no where to play, night games are fun
Adelaide Oval - Nice change rooms for the cheerleaders, lots of grass but can't play with a ball on it.
Unley Oval - Nice play ground on top of the hill but a bit too squisshy. They have Wedndys icecream there :D
Glenelg Oval - Toilets are raelly bad and they run out of food, but it's ok tp play at.
Alberton - No grass or trees, needs shade in the outer
Aami Stadium - Cant play or kick a footy anywhere, but it was fun to dance there on Grand Final day
Elizabeth - A lot of fights and lots of blood after the fights

I got my 9yo daughter to give her thoughts, before all the Doggies supporters go spare about this,

she was nearly hit a couple of years ago by the moron that came swinging after the game, and the bloke that had his face busted up got a lift to and from the game with us, hence the reference to the blood.

Yep, here's a list of instances where clubs have moved away from home:

Port 1975-76 - over a council dispute with one of the grandstands I believe
Sturt 1986-97
Torrens 1990, then as Eagles in 1991-92
Glenelg 1991

In 1990 there was 38 out of 90 minor round matches at Football Park, then in 1991 there was 39 out of 99.

Seriously, she was 7 at the time and it's stuck in her mind, she didn't want to go back out there rd1 last year but we dragged her along, this time there were no problems.

"BOUNCY CASTLES"

Noarlunga, Richmond & Elizabeth have them now for each home game. Will others follow?

Maybe for the die hard junior fans who actually come for the footy they are not important but if I had of got rid of the jumpy castle of Noarlunga the outrage from the kids would have seen me lose my job ...... oh hang on too late. :)

Biggest highlight for me in the 13 months at Pantherland was the day we invited every auskick kid in our zone (& parents) to a game and did a pre-game parade. The NAB were a great help on the day and we had over 400 people involved. The added numbers made for a good crowd and South won, in fact it was our last win of the year. Hope the "new breed" down south at least keep this initaitive going.

Prospect Oval - Great atmosphere, lots of friends there, easy to see the game, plenty of room for a kick.
Woodville Oval - Lots of grass to kick the footy
Noarlunga Oval - Lots of room to have a kick, and they have fairy floss :D
Richmond - Best BBQ, and lots and lots of room to kick the footy
Glenelg Oval - Toilets are really bad but plenty of grass to play on
Adelaide Oval - Plenty of grass to run around on, but no where to kick a footy and can't go on the ground
Norwood Oval - No grass areas to have a kick, foods ok
Unley Oval - Too crowded to have a kick, would be ok with only a couple hundred people there, good food though
Alberton - While North keep winning I would rate Alberton higher than this, but no grass areas to have a kick
Aami Stadium - Like Adelaide except no where to play.
Elizabeth - Too many ferals, too far away

sorry phil but that's what was meant from little bayman as to why he liked elizabeth as he can play on that before the game, half time & even during at times, i am reluctant to let him on (but i do) because i was at the kapunda trots when that young girl was tragically killed a few years ago

(His first game for his school was a night game at Noarlunga, the kids loved it)

I haven't been there in years - is it still lopsided? The goalposts at each end never looked like they were truly opposite each other.

Curious as to why you became a North supporter Wedgie?
For me and my brethren, it's "Born Bulldog, Die Bulldog".
So what led to your conversion?

I wanted to be different and not just follow my parents like most do as Ive always been a headstrong sort of person, both my parents were Norwood supporters and my step dad was an Eagles supporter. Lived in Camden Park and then Ascot Park when growing up where 99% of people went for Port, Norwood, Glenelg or Sturt so didn't want to go with the groove.
Didn't follow footy passionately in 80/81 (preferred soccer! ), actually liked Westies colours at one stage but lived in their area so that was going to be too easy, did a careful appraisal of each club and North came out on top as it would have been too easy to follow a good team (North were pretty crap at that stage).
Stephen Kerley and Mick Nunan cinched it for me in 82.
Except for a couple of Torrens game went to my first game as a fair dinkum North supporter in 83 as a 12 yo (still remember the game, we were playing Norwood and beat them in the week following John Phillips death) and fell in love with the red and white. (also a great win the week after at Prossie against Port, can still remember getting abused by Port supporters that game as I took an air horn to the game! he he)
If Norwood had got Coopers on board a bit earlier it might have been different.

Still have fond memories of being at the Parade after Norwood's premiership in 1975, remember people who were a lot taller than me being everywhere, I think that was their first flag in something like 25 years.
Also enjoyed 78 but only on TV.

Fav Norwood players (besides Nunan and Kerley - Kerley was my fav) were Greg Turbill and Neil Button and Rodney Pope who was my coach at Under 8s (my only year of footy till I turned 25). Used to also swap letters with Brian when he was a bit more with it in the 70s as a kid. Mums got a photo of me somewhere in a Norwood fleecey, I should try and dig it up.

Also to add interest Mrs Wedgie was a mad Glenelg fan when I met her, managed to sway her away from the dark side within 12 months as she soon realised the relationship wasn't going to work if she remained a Glenelg fan. Only fair though as Mrs Wedgie's mum swayed her Dad from being a North supporter to a Glenelg supporter.

My kids go to games where they can run around, play with the footy etc etc...
My daughters/son are too young to really explain, so from Dad's view.
1/ Glenelg, good grass areas especially by the scoreboard, toilets Ok by North/East end, close to home
2/ Woodville, a family favourite, good grass areas, good catering, good toilets, close to home
3/ Richmond, not bad grass area, Excellent BBQ, close to home
4/ Prospect, not bad grass area, catering OK, reasonably close to home
5/ Elizabeth, good grass, good facilities, a fair hike
6/ Noarlunga, as per Elizabeth
7/ Unley usually near the playground, too crowded, ok after the game for a kick (watch out for poop kids  )
8/ Alberton, good facilities, no grass, close to home
9/ Norwood, beer which kids can't drink  , cement city...
10/ Adelaide, good grass, expensive catering, good tiolets, loses heaps of points for the no footy policy in/on the oval.
11/ Thebarton, minimal grass, toilets a fair way out of the ground (east wing), catering poor. Close to home but !
12/ None of my kids have been to Footy Park, not a bad ground, close to home !!
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated
