One query: would the atmos have been a little different had the game been a bit closer? :?:

Good advertisment for night footy by all accounts and no crowds issues reported either. Centrals are certainly leading on and off the park.

I didn't think there were that many people there. I was a bad guess , I thought about 5,000. Had no trouble parking, just parked in the shopping centre carpark, front row ,facing Elizabeth Way. The crowd was well behaved, pity the game was not close. Central played really well, we just chased them all night. We were always 1 or 2 metres behind them. Well done 'dogs, you look like being there again. As for our guys, next week will be telling. If we can't do much better against the 'legs, it could be time to wake up to reality that the bottom 2 rungs of the ladder are staring us in the face. Or maybe the "Dogs were just that good. As I said , next week we might know a bit more. Hopefully , it's the latter !!

A great night overall! There was something evident last night that has been missing for a long time-real atmosphere & a sense of excitement & no trouble at all, on or off the oval. The only 2 negatives were...

1. You weren't allowed into the club unless you were a member, or accompanied by a member (never the case in the past),

2. Sponsors received a coke & pie voucher for their kids, which are valid for the entire season, but they were taken from the kids when presented & told that they were only good for 1 pie & coke ( not the case & a few upset kids ).

Only a couple of minor things which will be remedied but I urge everyone out there to attend Hamra Homes Oval when your team is playing a night game this year because the atmosphere is fantastic. (and don't all start going on about the same old tired jokes about getting your car stolen etc., etc., etc ).

Clubs have always had Members Bars, haven't they? Been relaxed probably since the Crows started, makes sense though, if that you have good crowd nubers, you need to keep the riff-raff out

Welldone to Centrals for what sounds like a very good night. There were a few question marks surrounding the night but it's great to see no problems surface, it can only be a positive not only for the CDFC but for the SANFL. Very very impressive crowd, i can imagine there will be a similar (if not bigger) crowd for when North venture out there later in the year, should be a top night.

the crowd was big due to it being the 1st one, but i think aiming for around 5000 each saturday night game is very realistic.
can understand the members only in Grand Central, its packed in there when there is a crowd of only 2500.

Did anyone at the game get a "feel" for the game?
Was there a lot of people from the Barossa area that wouldn't normally go due to their own club's committments.

Just thinking that maybe South could try a similar thing, if not Sunday footy.

Personally I've never liked Sunday footy but I always notice a lot of different faces when we've had a Sunday game at Prossie with quite a few lads from Broadies, Gaza, Kilburn, etc rocking up.

Grand Central has long been promoted as a community club for everyone to enjoy & to change the rules without telling anyone was a bit stiff, I think. You go there at 6.00pm on a sunday & there are always about 150 people there to play bingo & the pokies & I will guarantee that hardly any are members.

LONG LIVE SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL AT ELIZABETH. :D Oh, and by the way, my late model Commodore was still where I left it with all its wheels and hubcaps. :P
