I'm just loving how it is we Bays supporters getting attacked/canned on here now, not our club. Just goes to show we are on the right track when they can't criticise our playing, coaching and administration groups.

Hows the serenity

Still a long way from Oct. TM.

I have too many Bay Mates Wedgie and yes they are a Prem threat but my heart says they are my Port/Collingwood/Carlton. I don't have to like them do I?

Agreed long way from Oct not sure where you got that inference from my post??

LOL Jimmy I'd hardly say we've thumped the Dogs twice Jimmy. In two game against both Sturt and Centrals our combined winning margins in the respective games is less than four goals agaisnt each club. Wins are wins but I'd hardly say that the wins have been of such magnitude to make us out-right flag favourites, just ask SP!!!!

Lot of respect being offered to both Sturt and Centrals down at Brighton Rd I can assure all of you of that.

well, while the 2nd game score was close, you did thump them for 3/4 qtrs and the dogs made the scoreline look respectable with late goals and were no real threat.

then it just goes to show how good the bays are...to get 7 goals up on the dogs is quite an achievement and to hold them off shows character they hadnt shown previously.

all in all, the bays came away with the points, you cant do much more than that.

while sturt played well and were great against the bays the other week, we didnt get the points.

why would these other clubs that didnt get the points be considered more of a thread than the club that has won 11 in a row?

You can debate wheteher they are considered more of a threat or not the fact is any of teh top three are in with a realistic chance of playing in the GF, and Glenelg respect North Norwood, Port and teh Eagles. Any of the top seven sides taken lightly by any of the others will result in the side not 100% switched betting beaten
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

cant argue with that. :)

it is certainly going to be interesting how the results go with sturt and the dogs to play twice more. id feel more confident if we knock them off twice as opposed to 1-1 or 0-2 from these games. winning form is good form (altho 02 dispproved that a little ;)) into the finals and the bays certainly have that.

still its only july and anything can happen ;)

Mate one of the reasons for our "success" and its only "success" as in the big scheme of things we have done nothing yet, is that we know that we are not that good that we can just rock up and expect to win. We have to work our butts off, be disciplined, stick to the plan and everyone has to do their job, right from Rubbers, the entire playing group, down to the newest/junior members of the support staff. Any ego's, anyone getting ahead of themselves are pulled into line for breaking team/club rules.

We can't take anyone lightly or we'll get beaten. We were probably the last club to realise that we couldn't live on past glories with the changing landscape of SA Footy. We can thank Norwood for our lowest ebb and since then the club has slowly been putting structures and people in place to be successful. 2005 showed still had hic-cups, but since that 2004 night it has all been about building sustained success not quick fixes.

So in answer to your question despite May 23, we still respect Norwood, we have to as we have to respect everyone if we want to be successful.

LOL Well then I wish ya bloody wouldn't and we could get a little closer (say 10 goals for a start)

Seriously though, I hear ya Tassie, you guys are playing a lot of straight bats and so you should until the crowning glory, as for some strange reason I get the feeling there's a lot of people out there hoping you'll fall over.

I think, and Spelly might correct me, we were battling for those spoons with the "Dashing and Gays...". Anyway history shows us the Bays can only beat the Roosters in GF's (Post WWII that is) so Dogs and Blues supporters must be licking their lips 'cause my beloved Roosters wont be anywhere near that 1st weekend in October. History is a strong influence in Footy and some Bay supporters would do well to remember that. 1986 was a long time ago and windows can slam shut pretty quickly.

Well, yes, Glenelg and North shared the spoons between 1998 and 2003.

It's "definitely" by the way. ;)

I think you are playing ducks and drakes TT 8)

you cant be serious. the gays have thumped the dogs twice now and beaten sturt twice although they were both tough games but as your fans say, they still did enough to win and win without certain players etc etc.

its hard to accept what you say when fans brag about how great they are at the moment and great footy they are playing.

We truly thumped the Dogs once and beat Sturt once, even. It all means nothing if you can't make the 5 however.

Perhaps far too good for SANFL.

This man is serious about footy.

About winning.

He will be lost to SANFL because of his AFL experience.

Enjoy this great man while we can.

Mark, enjoy the future. We are about to lose you. =D> =D>

You can say whatever you want about the Bays being there at the end or not. But for now, they're certainly on target. I personally think they can take the flag, but not without a fight. They are not Prem faves, as I would go with The Dogs and The Double Blues. Both have had more finals experience as of late, but Glenelg are certainly not too far behind.

So all you anti - Bays supporters, keep it coming ! Your comments are shall we say...amusing

I think Mickan will be in the SANFL for as long as he, and the Bays, want him to be. He's tried his hand at the Crows and Power in coaching roles, and I think he's genuinely enjoying being at Glenelg, and being back in the SANFL.

There was conjecture about whether he would sign on beyond his initial contract, and thankfully he did...it would be disappointing to see him move on, particularly given what he has done to turn around the footy club's fortunes.

The plight of the Bays in all grades is credit to Mickan's management of not just the league side, but his commitment to regularly having discussions with coaches at all levels, to ensure the players in all grades are playing to a defined game plan and style. When a player goes from the 19s to Ressies, or the Ressies to the League side, they have a clear idea what their role is, and how the team will play. Credit to Mickan for the Bays being strong in all grades, though the 17s have slipped further back in recent times.

He can be coach for as long as he wants to be...I just hope he wants the job as much as us Bays fans want him in it.

In translation for people who don't speak Baylanese, that means that he can be coach for as long as he wants...as long as they're winning!

I'd love to play Glenelg in a grand final.

Is Peter Marker still around the place?
