ME - got those underage results yet? :)

Yesterdays underage results at a damp Noarlunga.

U17s
South 5.4 9.8 11.15 16.25.121
Eagles 1.1 1.2 1.4 1.4.10

Couldn't kick a goal to save ourselves, but could have gotten a cold. This game ended the 17s chances of making the finals with only the Bye and Glenelg game to come.

U19s

South 1.2 1.2 1.4 1.6.12
Eagles 3.10 5.17 9.19 16.24.120

This win puts the 19s into the top 2
Played in front of more cars then people and the clowns from Circus Royle. :)

Wowza, how about that! Compared to last year, South 17s have improved amazingly (well the group of youngsters coming through has been better). Not surprisingly the 19s are doing poo.

Looks like South's gonna make the finals now after such a poor start to the year.

I counted 30 people around the entire outer just before the start of the 1st quarter. However, the Barry Jarman Stand was two thirds full, with the Percy Fox Green Stand about half full. So, with cd reporting that both stands have a capacity of 1,200, I'd estimate about 700 odd in the stands. Then there would have been more in the clubroom upstairs, too.

Full marks to all those who attended in apalling conditions.
Very impressed with Broadbent and Corbett today, handled the conditions with surety and confidence. Words cannot describe how much class 'Barry' McKenzie has, he was on another level today.
Thought the Eags were good for 3 quarters today, the second one being lamentable. A noticeable change in attitude in the third quarter.
I feel the run has been left too late and I reckon we'll finish with 8 wins and maybe 6th possie at best.

I believe all clubs would wish to thank supporters who attended the games yesterday.
The 1107 is about right with some 750 plus in the 2 stands, folk watching from our upstairs clubroom plus others in the cricket club along with the few hardy souls who stood in the outer.

Most were able to be undercover and see the game due to our decision to open the Jarman stand at no charge (usually $3 for a single ticket if bought on the day).

(Micky is correct i was much happier as i thought it was a terrific contest in the conditions plus he laughed at my jokes!)

I reckon that the people counting the crowd must have been seeing double. The crowd was so small that for once I felt like there were nearly as many people supporting South as the Eagles.

Not double, definitely 30 in the outer to begin with - there were a couple of people in each of the tents, and a couple each in the canteens, too.

And one little old lady by the coffee van sheltering
Not sure what the big fuss is about it was a god awful day .During the seconds you could hardly see the players due to the rain .The centre was covered in water by a huge amount of rain at 8.30 am.As the day went along the rain grew and the wind dropped .How could anyone complain about no crowds .
Lets not forget it was as cold as the tax office at Oval Ave on Saturday!!!
