I agree, great attacking flair by the cocks, but my question, is it a concern that they have conceeded on average 16 goals a game,

if the cocks were kicking 22 goals and the opposition 8, then that would send real alarm bells through the comp, if I was Jars I would be concerned about leaking so many goals, finals are often won by sides with the strongest desire and defensive action

Grand Central wrote:This Friday night game should be a corker. One thing I have noticed with North is that while its scores are impressive, opposition clubs have also racked up half decent scores. The back six is North's weak link.

Centrals will stake its game on defence while North will attack at all costs. It should be a good clash of football philosophy and tactics.

Well put GC it wouldn't be so much of a worry if we could put ourt best side on the park but the big men stocks are starting to thin and the defence looks "leaky". I can see a possible loss coming this week!

dotn make excuses, you should have plenty of depth ;)

we have - but their all injured!

I am so glad North are the only side with injuries otherwise we all would be in trouble.

Yes they have a great list but every team has injuries and i would put the dogs quality of injuries up against any in the league. How many premiership SANFL players do North have injured.

That's very true, some fine and proven players are certainly missing but Central would be hit the harder of the two I would think.

The high scoring in the SANFL is fantastic and much better then the chiping game played in the AFL. However, Adelaide exposed the Western Bulldogs inabilty to defend, as their style of play is all based around attack. I good side needs an even balance of both.

well as i said in another topic. to beat north one will have to be more defensive. i really dont believe that any coach would have the attitude that, " if they can kick more goals than us then good luck to them." not when it came down to it. north are sensational to watch but they do have the cattle and the advantage of teams trying to play the same way

Panther, you are confused - this will be the Prelim Final. The doggies play the winner of this in the GF - its tradition.

If a side tries to beat North in a shootout they will lose more often than not. A few sides have tried and failed this year but I have concerns about this style of play come finals time, as much as I love to watch it.

Credit should not only go to Jars but all coaches for the games I've seen this year. There seems to be an exciting free flowing brand of footy that's been missing for some time. The crowd at the Bay was awesome and so was the quality of footy from both sides. The influx of quality recruits seems to have had an impact.

Sure, lots of goals can be good to watch, but it's often the closeness of a contest that are the best games. Last weekend we had 4 games that were all but over at 3 quarter time. It's great to see attacking football, but I won't be complaining if I see a few games, maybe in the wet, that are decided by pure guts and determination with the winning team kicking 8 goals.

Which have been the best games this year? Only Eagles v Norwood (2 pts) and Norwood v Glenelg (11 pts) have been close. The rest have been decided by margins greater than 3 goals.
