I think WR is on the mark, although who knows, possibly there's been further development ... I'm a bit with GC on this one, provided the clear majority of games remained at the Parade (and ALWAYS do) I wouldn't think it such a bad thing to have a couple a year in whats more a heartland to the club than the surrounds of our current location ... Means a longer trip for me to get to and from games, but who really GAF if it's of benefit to the club!!

Wide receiver was on the ball there. The redlegs in their infinite wisdom decided to move all juniors to GG, it was a tight race between there and PNU oval. From what I've heard (mainly from Parents) is that it was a shocking move, as its not central to the majority of junior players and its BLOODY freezing in winter.

I think some re-zoning needs to take place here, as Golden Grove is closer to Elizabeth than it is to Norwood (as if Centrals need a bigger zone though..)

Why Norwood seniors would move up there is beyond me..

harpers field (golden groves new oval... which is fenced is has a surface that puts most sanfl grounds to shame as i have played on every sanfl ground and i have been to harpers field and seen it first hand as unis bastards played their gf there this season... fantastic ground but there is a bloody creek along side the outerwing fence and footys are lost pretty easily... a net like prospect would be needed along the wing... but definatley the potential is there. Top grade surface and that meens alot for me to compliment something out of golden grove.

I think you will find that North will be committed to a serious upgrade and more control over Prospect in the coming 2-4 years once the debt has been really lowered - the members have spoken and the long term intention is to stay always at Prospect. plus there "may be" significant funds thrown at Greenacres in terms of training facilities in the years to come - possibly to have the juniors playing out of there?

Damn it Sojo!

I read through this whole thread with interest (having not joined til autumn last year) only to find this rumour of moving to GG is older than bloody Paul Nixon's international cricket career!!!!!

Considering the speed of the move to the new site on North East Rd, I'd say it is about on par! :drinkers:

I think you are mentioning the Greenwith Oval - they moved a couple years back !!!

Ridgehaven Oval on Golden Grove rd where Modbury play would likely be the perfect venue.

Yet considering the demographics of Adelaide and where the games are played it would be better to do what the WAFL did with Mandurah and use the opportunity to put the tenth team in the SANFL based at Ridgehaven and made up of a composite side of the North Eastern suburbs amatuer footy teams in the same way that Central was set up.
