Ok, I'll delete it, since I can't find anything to back it up. If I'll find where it was posted I'll tell you.

Why bother Spelly - forget about it. 90% of the stuff on here is said without anyone backing it up with facts or logic even!  Play on........

I'll do a little bit of looking now and again, but I can't really be bothered to look for it much.

I dunno who chooses these games, the Eagles get noone at their games when they're on TV and it'd be the worst game of the round comfortably IMHO and not the best advert for the SANFL. A lose/lose situation but my step dad at Fisherman's Bay will be happy!

Perhaps I can help spelly out.
According to the ratings of individual teams in 2004 amd 2005 the games telecast with the Eagles rated well - better than when some other teams were telecast.

Overall TV ratings for the League have been growing.

Whether this is people who cant get to games, older folk pre the merger checking on the WWTFC or people deciding not to attend I don't know

Of course I'd much prefer to see our fans at the games. I really thank those wonderful loyal supporters that do get to our games - and encourage all Footy fans no matter what club to get to grounds whenever they can.

CD said "rated well - better than some other teams" not all other teams.
No need to get excited when they outrate West and South and games I've been to when the Eagles have been on TV have had the Eagles crowds as quite embarassing to tell the truth.
I certainly wouldn't get excited or justify a television broadcast by the fact Eagles fans are more likely than most to stay at home.

Surely even Eagles fans would agree this would have to be the worst game on paper for the coming weekend which is more to the point?

He didn't say which teams we don't out rate either. 8)

Of course, it appears to be the worst game to broadcast, but as I said, the ABC would do this game as it might prove to be the only time they go to Richmond - they've got to broadcast at every venue (Well, sounds like a gentlemans' agreement to me)

Personal viewpoint

I was surprised with this rounds choice - I was hoping to set the tape and see another game as I'll be at Broadspectrum to see the Mighty High Flying Eagles.

But also good for our fans and Westies who cant get to the game this weekend - but if you can attend make the effort and get there.

Spelly yesterday you said "When the Eagles are on the TV, the ratings go up. Don't say they don't because it's well known."

Now you have lots of post deleteds.

Does that mean you have retracted your statement?

I presume you deleted your own posts.
