If I wasn't working I might have gone along. Looks to me like 2 very strong sides for a trial game, it's nice to see.

As for James Craig, I've been impressed by what I saw over the PS with Adelaide. Is he tall enough to be an AFL ruckman? Not sure, but regardless I think he possesses enough athleticism to be a key defender, I wouldn't mind seeing him spend a bit of time down there this year.

Ryan left the club to go and play for South Gawler in the BL&G League...

I would suggest he'd be on some good money out there, it's a shame because he was a real talent I thought...

Yes I agree, real talent. Beautiful disposal, very poised, good hands, I always thought he could've made a handy senior player but he never got an oppertunity despite coming close so often.

He played in a couple of league trial games this time last year but couldn't crack the side throughout the season proper, despite some good performances as you mentioned. I know the club was sad to see him go, would have probably got his chance at league level this season if he had stuck around I reckon.

A glimpse into the future for Dogs supporters today. No Gowans, Schell, Mackenzie or Cochrane who are all arguably in the twighlight of their careers.

Todays squad, adding the the likes of Boyd, Dutschke, O'Sullivan & Lawry will be just about the basis of next years team.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

League: (2.10pm)

From: L. Westhoff, Callinan, Jenner, Goodrem, Sansbury, Milne, Spurr, Thomas, Nash, Frail, R. Henderson, Hayes, M. Westhoff, Habel, Dunne, Gunston, Hannath, R. Williams, Hynes, Vater, Havelberg, Switala, O’Hara.

Reserves: (11:25am)

From: Boyd, Bradtke, Burgess, Christmann, Claughton, Cochrane, Duncan, Economou, Edmead, Fergus, Foldesdy, Fry, Hardiman, Haydon, Mark, Matson, Musolino, Reichert, Schiller, Waldhuter, M. White, N. White, B. Williams, Wittwer, Woodards.

Interesting to see Hynes named. Im assuming he will be given an opportunity to play Full back in Lawry and Hardy's absense. hopefully he can impress and hold his spot for Round 1.

Still 9 league players out of the dogs side this week. Hopefully Hannath and or Milne can have a good week and secure the Number 2 ruckman spot for Round 1 also. Interesting to see Boydy in the reserves ???

Pre-season title on the line, with Westies loss a North win (or draw) would make them the only unbeaten team.

Ohhhhh the tension ........

Only joking, just a case of hanging out for some real footy.
