Maybe your coach will learn to stop pumping your team up , he does it too much IMO. It's enough to send the wrong message to his players and has hapenned a few times this year.

I thouught Norwood would win and I based that on Godden at the press conference. He needs to play it down more IMO.

And could we watch one game between these two supposedly better sides of the competition where neither (yes including the Eagles, mal ;) ) don't resort to putting ridiculous numbers of players behind the ball?
That Norwood could consistently have two or three behind the ball and still kick 17 goals really shows how bad we were today.

Apologies JAS, I had 1 number wrong, it was a typo on my behalf.

I wrote the crowd figure down in my Budget when it came up on the big screen.

The Facebook page post was in fact correct, 9,192 fans attended.

9192, (9 x 1) + (9 x 2) = 27, 2 + 7 = 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any chance we could keep this to Australian football?

Personally thought Godden going on through the week about revenge for last year's Prelim was unusual, given how much both teams have changed I reckon he'd have been better served by focussing on today's game. He's the pro though I guess.

Well played today Norwood, a dominant performance in almost every aspect.

Our zone and press were excellant today, nothing wrong with having numbers behind the ball, its up to the opposition to take it on but you did exactly what we wanted you to do. Maybe the Eagles defenders would be better worrying about getting on an opponent rather than worry about our zone. Suprised that everyone says Norwood are a slow side yet we made the Eagles look far slower today.
MAL i hope you are now convinced about our big man setup.
Well done to our midfield today, were awesome and slaughtered them in clearances.
For me Campbell and Pfeiffer were the two standouts and Petrenko was probably the only Eagle player that would get in the top 10 on ground today.

Thought McKenzie was average. Especially for a player with no opponent. Looked very slow.

Strange, I thought ALL the Eagles players looked to be struggling with the pace of the game! (like they had had a big week on the grog in Darwin with you & Skeff!)

Especially when he went on the ball - great player but not a centre square player these days (if he ever was?).

If it was a race between me, TSG and Mckenzie to a can of bundy, we would place 1 and 2 and McKenzie a distant third!

Lewis suprised me, normally he has a field day against us but the only time i saw him today was when he got a few cheap kicks in the final quarter

Scott Lewis had a shocker, but he was no orphan there.

Patrenko was the only Eagles player that seemed to show some heart.

Norwood played well, but made sone telling mistakes down back, especially into 2nd, that weren't punished.

Norwood's pressure on the man with the ball made the Eagles panic under pressure, and now the Eagles need to regroup or suffer the fate of straight sets against an increasingly confident South.

The pathetic crowd and lack of atmosphere (for both games) was at times embarrassing.

I was referring to both sides Jim, at one stage Norwood had the ball on their half back line and the 18 Eagles were either in or surrounding the centre square. It just annoys me a bit when the style of footy gets played when there are that many SANFL-knockers out there - five years ago the SANFL mightn't have been as quick or as skillful as the AFL but the style of play at least made it a good alternative to watch. At the moment I don't think clubs are doing the SANFL brand any favours, with Norwood, West and the Eagles are the main culprits.

West by far the worst culprits, Nwd and Eagles pretty attacking and direct on most days but sometimes you have to play a more defensive numbers behind the ball and often because of your opponents to be honest.

Thanks to Jonas.

Jonah did a great job today. I thought most guys had a good day, Will Young and Hughesy slotted in well, cant believe Youngy hasnt played more league games this season. Going to be hard to slot in Jez and Davis next week, i think Jez will come back through the twos but not sure who misses for Davis because everyone has earnt a spot today
