Probably our best 4 quarter effort for the year if not our only real one. Was never really confident until we got 5 up in the last, Boyd's soft free and resulting 25m for F^&* knows what late in the last and numerous holding the balls that weren't paid against the Mutts I thought the Flea farmers might've trumped us but our resolve and determination was greater. Our tackling was great today. Well deserved win. Well done.
Ps. Great to have Aiden "The Razor" Riley back with us, cuts packs like a surgeon. :D

I'll double that Jimmy! :D It's always great to send doggies fans home with their tails between their legs, as has happened so often in recent years @ Unley.

Sturt were the better team all day, first to the ball and wanted it more...what's more, we finally held some marks, didn't overuse the handball and kicked pinpoint to teammates, something Central were rarely able to do consistently...

Hard to pick out better players for the Blues as it was a real team effort..I though Riley did some special stuff in close for his first game back, along with Thomson, Evans, Crane, Kane and Cubillo...Hinge, Anderson and F. Evans were excellent in defence. Boyd and Thomas were excellent for the dogs as they are most weeks.

A pity we didn't convert our chances in the first quarter, but we didn't need it in the end. It's also a shame we have yet another bye next week :? just when were beginning to play some decent football...

Agree with that. In every other game we've gone to sleep for 15 mins or so...even during our first win V Port.

Makes a huge difference to get that out of the system..

God knows how or why you'd believe that, the Ump was 15m away and there was nothing happening. The Sturt player was just watching Boyd, so you suggest that he just decided to swear at the Ump for no reason??? Baffling.

Commentators on RPH also believed it was for swearing.

Congrats again on your 3rd win for the year, that should lift SFC to 7th.

Nope... unfortunately I was helping out my wife today with her craft business... she's 37 weeks pregnant and therefore finding it more difficult these days to pack and unpack a car load of goods for market.

... this year my attendance at games will be few and far between, besides living about 100km away from the nearest ground these days, with my little girl just a few short weeks away, I'm pretty keen to be with her.

Daddy's little princess is coming! :-) <yes, its my first>

The free kick to Boyd was there, he had his head over the footy and was taken high...

That being said, there were similar situations, for both sides, that weren't paid earlier - a pretty average day by the men in white, I thought...

We assumed the 25m penalty was for back chat / abuse as the Sturt player did look to remonstrate a fair bit with the umpire post decision...

Disagree. Umpires were okay today compared to what I've seen previously this year....Eagles v Sturt springs to mind... But the free to Boyd was soft IMO, as was the one to Sturt a few minutes later down the other end..

p.s. and I say the umps were okay, even after we were first to the ball most of the day and we still lose out on the free kick count...again..
