Norwood wouldnt want to play like that again next week, Centrals will over run them.

How about looking at your positives?
You did beat Centrals a couple of weeks ago at the same venue.
Thought you guys played well today but poor finishing in the first quarter cost you victory, to be smashed in that 1st quarter and still walk in less than a goal down was a huge boost of spirits for the guys.
If you play like that every week you will definately win more than you lose

I am happy Jim. I believe that Seamus is slowly starting to get the team playing the way he has been teaching them.

Yeah correct, Sturt had Norwood all covered in the first quarter except where it counted, on the scoreboard.

Nice try. You get nothing.

My best 4 were Terlich, Suckling, Newton and Webber
Newton twisted his knee but came back on and did well.
Think Zorz was rested today and both him and Jericho should be good to go next week

Centurion, that's trolling if ever I read it. Just put your best team on the park and we will do the same and I recon we will have a great day's football with yet another close call at the Parade, ;)

Cheers,

Lucky to snatch a win at the very end.

A great effort today given guys like Murphy, Grigg, Jefferies, Kirwan, Reinbrecht, Smart, Evans and Thomas at a guess probably would have a total of 20 league games amongst the 8 of them. Probably one of the most inexperienced lineups we have had in years.

No doubt it took a bit of luck and Sturt just couldn't put us away at crucial times. The umpiring was poor but mostly consistent. I thought we got a very good run in the second half but Sturt got a number of cheap ones up forward in the first half and it balanced out in the end.

A special mention to the reserves side who despite losing their first game of the year put up a good fight. They had four 'first reserve gamers' and another five that had played less than four games.

I expect to get rolled next week in both grades against Central but it will be a good test for what is currently a very young group.

No sooner has Backwell retired and we have a new candidate for King Duck.

Anyone got the State Umpiring Manager's email address? Is it still Shane Harris?

Norwood generally have a very committed and passionate supporter base but a few mouthy ones seem to be attaching themselves to season 2012.
You'd better be hoping for a big final's series given some of the carry on i've witnessed.

Norwood ran the game out better, Sturt couldn't put them away, and Philllips is a class act. Terlich too an unbelievable game!

He'll just tell you Crane's been doing the same for years.

Most of them attached themselves to 2004 aswell .. All clubs have supporters who find more voice when they're travelling well, the real test for ours will be who's here posting in a few months time if or when we can't get past the Dogs again.

yeah true, every club has the 'johnny come lately' mob who are good for a few laughs.

Nothing should detract from the tough contest, Sturt aren't far away but reliance on Jenkins is an issue. Norwood have great depth and whomever comes into the side know how to play their role given their sound structures.
SANFL a brilliant competition when two traditional teams go at it like they did today.
