WAFL (3rd) v VFL (2nd)
SANFL (1st) v NEAFL North (QLD/NT) (4th)
Tas (5th) v NEAFL East (NSW/ACT) (6th)
Personally would have loved a trip to Qld but it is what its.
Queensland got within a goal of WA a few years back, add in some young NT talent they will need to be respected
against a SANFL competiton that has lost a fair bit of experience in 12 months.

Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns field reserves teams in the Northern conference, while Sydney Swans and GWS Giants field reserves teams in the Eastern conference. The current system of finals sees the conference champions face off in an overall NEAFL premiership. The first premiership was won by NT Thunder in 2012, while the Brisbane Lions took the 2013 crown.
The NEAFL was created really to stop the flow of talent heading to our shores and to WA and Victoria. The league offers an experience close to that of the AFL, the interstate travel where a couple or a few times a year you could travel to Brisbane, Sydney, Darwin or Canberra. Sure, the SANFL standard is higher but the incentive of coming here is now partly diminished.
It was only going to be a matter of time before they joined the interstate arena along with Tasmania, at least there's no year off anymore. I will be there for my league regardless off the opposition.

Dogsbody wrote:There is some truth to it though. Those who would have come here to harden up, now get an AFL-like travel experience that you don't get anywhere else bar maybe once a year for state duty. And they don't have to leave home! It's a 50-50 decision almost. Harden up or get a feel of what it is to be an AFL footballer.
