Fair enough, Booney, appreciate what you are saying there...
One last thing from me on it - Nathan Bassett is thinking the same thing, reading his blog on the NFC website...

So you appreciate my comments, then add another one along the same lines....

Will Norwood get to keep the Williams-Gallagher trophy in perpetuity after the conclusion of this game?

Based on what decisions that have been made, may I ask?

On the usual basis, viz. Norwood being in front on head-to-head results against Port in the home-and-away season.

A tad precious?
Hmm. The possibility that the team I have grown up loving may or may not (as we know, nothing has been decided) disappear is getting discussed on nearly every thread in the SANFL board and I'm a little precious over it? Well pardon me.
It's nearly as prolific as the publicity surrounding the Gowans' book. I said nearly.

In every thread to the end of the season are going to read "Last time Port......" That is going to get really tiresome, until an annoucement is actually made there is no need for it.
Could be the last time alot of things happen in the SANFL.
I now feel dirty supporting a Magpie supporter

Looks like we get to keep Renouf for another week.
Could get Matt Thomas and Luke Brown back aswell.
James Aish would have to be a definate starter, he wont play many more games for Norwood so we need to make the most of him

Given the form displayed by the 22 who played last week and the need for Sanderson to sacrifice some lambs at the selection table, I would have thought that Luke Brown would be a pretty solid chance to be played by the Crows if he's fully fit.
James Aish is actually a definite starter for the SA U/18s, sadly for Norwood. The last 2 games have really been little more than practice matches, and the real stuff (vs Vic Country at Richmond) starts this weekend. Then the U/18s have a week off (so he can play for us vs South), then back into the national comp on Friday 28 June, so he can't play for us vs Centrals! Poor scheduling, AFL— should have thought more about the strength of Norwood's opponents when putting the national champs together.
What's amazing is that Peter Bampton is a definite starter for Norwood, having been left out of the SA U/18 team for this weekend. Based on his performance at Richmond (and in the Foxtel Cup), that kid can really play. We'll totally take him if the SA U/18 side doesn't want him, but if he's not in SA's best 22 players under the age of 18, then this must be the greatest ever draft crop from SA coming up!
