Winning the Ken Farmer Medal means hekicked the most goals for the year - and that is all it means.

Chambers easily for mine.

- Played in the second worst attack in the competition.
- Played for the side with the worst defence in the competition, therefore the ball spent a hell of a lot of time up the other end of the ground.
- Had a mistake riddled midfield 'delivering' him the footy. As has been mentioned before, the likes of Passador and Schell get it on a silver platter from some of the most skilled players in the competition, and from players who get it more often.
- Missed two games through suspension.
- Works his arse off when he hasn't got the footy and for all of these reasons will be named the P.T Morton Medal Winner at the SFC Best & Fairest.

Simply put, had Chambers been playing in a top three side this year he would have slotted 80+ without any problem at all.

He is loyal to the end despite other clubs trying to entice him over each off-season.

I think MST your are almost spot on with that review except if he played in a team like North he would not have got 80 plus because the load is shared with the talent in that fwd line and North was the leading scoring team - look at how many North players kicked 20 plus compared with any other club. Wouldn't make him any less a player though.

Chambers was the best performed full forward over the whole year no doubt given what you have reviewed.

Put simply, if he played in a top three side he would have had less opportunity. Look at Fev in the AFL...carlton had very few attacking options and looked for him most of the time. Chambers fits the same bill...
Both obviously very good players but history says that Passador won the Ken Farmer and that is the league award for the most successful FF.

Wrong BTB History shows that Passador was the leagues best goal kicker not FF as other Eagles fans have said Passador played some games further up the ground.

How many of his goals were kicked further up the ground? I think the guy himself said in the tiser that this was the first year where he had played mostly at FF. Given that he spent some time further up the ground makes his effort at FF even more impressive.

Passador played exclusively at FF in about 90% of matches this year.

BP I agree that Schell is the most dangerous FF in the comp, especially with his pace and leap. Chambers is solely a FF or FP. Being more versatile makes Passador more dangerous for us - how many goals have Lindsay, Westbrook, Skipworth (against North) kicked when they've been the key forward for a stint and Passador has been up the ground? If he was att FF all day, he would have kicked 90, but then we mighnt'nt have won as many games.

And if you all think Chambers effort is great, how do you rate Blight in '85 and Pierson '82 (one win), who bothh kicked 100+ when Woodville finished bottom?
