Backwell Not Guilty, Cupido gets one week!

All discussions to do with the SANFL

Cupido getting a game is a joke. Both him and Clarke from South have been very unlucky this year. Read into that what you will

I said that in a bit of a different way.

McConnell is probably THE player who annoys me most of all, and this hasn't helped. BTW, I liked the "Eddie Munster" bit :)

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

Can teams appeal a decision in the SANFL?

I suspect if it wasn't someone who came to the club this year that the verdict would have been different. Methinks the SANFL has found more than one way to punish a salary cap breach, given this and David Clarke's tribunal results. In previous years you could have used a chainsaw and gotten a reprimand and now this - one week for a push (open hand contact to the chest, not a punch to the head). Consistency out the window.

Are you sure an official of a footy club should be posting such statements Scoop?

Who cares if he is an official or not Borat - he is right and it is his opinion which is still allowed is it not? I would be bloody shitty too if it was my club involved.

It does smell of conspiracy. Even you would have to think that Backwell should have gone for at least 1 and Cupido for none. Maybe the Tribunal have backed the MM winner already and don't want another Kernahan/Antrobus outcome?

Unfortunately there are league rules that prevent officials from making public comments on tribunal decisions in the media and like it or not this is a form of the media.

Scoop might want to consider taking down his post (if he is a club official) and asking the site admin/mods to delete the other posts before someone associated with the SANFL sees them.

I'll let Wedgie decide if he wants them to come down.......not that it is any skin off my nose, I know this site or I won't be paying any fine.....

What I post here is my own opinion. I haven't said anything "officially" - I'm not using my name, position at the club or stating that it is the club's view.

Opinions are like a***holes - everyone's got one.

allow me to take the heat off scoop for i am further down the ladder than him

that decision was absolute crap, you could say i had a fiarly close eye on it and it seems a shove in the chest that a bloke can see coming is worse than a gutless act by a player who was stiched up by everyone that he played on during the day

they missed the real punch thank god

Scoop, as an ex-offical of a club it doesn't what we say officially or unofficially, officials/players registerd with the SANFL can not comment on a tribunal decision. Up to you whether you take it down or are prepared to run the gauntlet of the SANFL deciding to take action on what an resistered official of a licensed SANFL club posts on a media forum under an assumed name.....

Phantom panther if you are implying that you are a lesser official at South Adelaide by your statement "further down the ladder than him" you might want to consider what you have said too, if you have had to sign the SANFL official registration form that once was pink....

Hey, I don't make the rules I just know what they are as someone who has appeared in the past on a SANFL Match stewards League report.......

Yeeeee-haw!

I guess with the $ the GFC saved on not cheating the salary cap, they could afford a decent advocate

Seriously, while I'm chuffed, I am surprised. Mouse's clash didn't look good from where I stood. All praise to the better=positioned video camera!

Surprised Kewpie doll got done too, his infraction was so mild I didn't even notice he got reported at the time. Reakon South will be better off without that lazy slob anyway...

Its a long standing tradition that the tribunal looks after Port come finals time. Cupido was unlucky that his next game is aginst Port.

I didn't see the Backwell one, so no comment there.

No matter what almost anyone has done this year, they've got off. I saw the Cupido one and it defies belief that he could be suspended for that.

What on earth are they doing?

Time for a new system.

Well if you do get a chance to see the Backwell one then that will really suprise you! I wonder if the ABC vision was used - particulary the vision from the side/behind - that was very damning. He is very, very lucky. Lets see if he gets up in the MM now, that will just add to the conspiracy theory thinking of many.
