Common knowledge months ago spelly. The first I heard of it was just recently here on safooty. I hear talk from eagles supporters all the time that they want him gone but hadn't heard talks he was leaving. All news to me. This would be a very bad loss. The only thing he has not done is taken us to a premiership, We have played finals consistently every year he has been at the helm and even played in 3GF's possibly 4 this year. Not bad in a 6 year stint.

well im not embarrassed at all, in fact all i was reporting was what he had informed the board and if you go back people on here had already made that statement long before i did.

there is an issue with the board at the moment and they arent to sure how many players they will be keeping now he has decided to stay.

Fuller should be embarrassed for telling people one thing and then changing his mind.

Fact: most of 2006 squad already signed for 2007 - and are talking about preseason training starting!

Fact: Ron indicated to the board early in 2006 that he would make up his mind at end of season re 2007 and beyond - this plan is what has happened/been followed.

The club will be in good hands, Ricky was a smart player, and
Im sure HE will become one of the all time great coaches in the SANFL.

PS Mcgowan which club did he last play for :?

Fuller got the flag he deserved.
Mcgowan also got a coaching job.
The official who gave us the bum steer is to blame not MT79.

Just maybe, if CD creamed WWT again then this info may have been right.

I have no idea if what was posted previously was accurate, but I do find it interesting that it was AFTER Rick was appointed Sturt coach that Ron elected to go again. It could be interpreted that Ron's replacement found another job?

mmm coach The Eags or coach Sturt, it would have been a tough choice for Rick.

By all accounts Rick wasn't even interested in an interview for the Sturt job until after the GF.

Hence me thinks that Fuller was signed up at 7pm Sunday 8 October, and sturt were ringing rick at 7.01 pm 8th of October

You can say that from an Eagles supporter perspective oww, but the choice could have been more like "take over a club where improvement can't be shown on the premiership table" (Minor and Major Premiers cannot be improved upon) or "take over a club with only one way to go... Up!"

Plus, Rick loves a challenge. He certainly has one.

P.S. I am not professing to be in the know as I have not spoken with Rick since his appointment, I am merely proposing an alternate line of thinking.

Yeah i can see your point about the challenge etc.

However i think that the job deserves a three year contract , because there is a lot of work to be done at Unley.

Sometimes coaches are only as good as their cattle and it might take two years for Rick to "breed" enough for Sturt to become competitive let alone have a crack at the big one.

Boards don't tend to look at the big picture.
