In the past I think James McLeay has held down that position but not sure whether he has retired? If not, he would have made a huge difference because I don't think Wundke would have got his goals so easily.

I thought the same MR F..... McLeay got in the best in the ressies , I would have had him in the side purely on match ups.

I thought over the whole game, the eagles went inside 50 far better than Sturt, so James maybe would have changed much anyway.

Yep, McLeay has been trying to come back from injury for a few years now and can't get a good run on things. It's one area where we struggle and have done so for a while, the other is that we need another good ruckman. Hinge needed a bit more help, got a few good pushes in the back that went un paid

x2. Footy's about kicking goals, not flooding.

Someone tell Paul Roos that. Please?

Thoroughly enjoyable game with the result in the balance till the end. Boyd was a terrier for the Eags and Batley is showing dash, poise and confidence. Lewis's form is a worry, wing is not his position. McGregor, although quieter still made valuable contributions and the Wundke/Ainger combo worked well. Still a bit light on for size in ruck and defence so will welcome back Grocke and Templeton ASAP.

What also won the eagles the game, was Kurtze had to drop deep infront of Ainger and Wundke, the eagles ruckman then sat in a hole and they spotted him up... he kicks 2 they win by 2.....
