sid followed norwood until neil balme left or got the flick then he followed neil when he coached woodville i think the hat or helmet he wore was actually made out of paper mache but could be wrong.

Neil Balme never coached Woodville. He quit Norwood to take up the post as W-WT Eagles' first coach in 1991.

No advertising on the fence, looks like Thebby

Are you sure? It looks like Richmond to me. I think that is the head trainer for westies top left hand side behind the umpires.
Any westies fans back me up, Firstblood, Theile.................please!

That could very well be the Head Trainer for Westies :D

The green paint on the fence and the painting of the 50 sign makes me think it's not Richmond.

The surface is too good for Woodville and Thebby's surface last year was very good, so I'm inclined to agree that it's probably Thebarton.

sid is/was living around the henley beach area some 4 or 5 years ago, but i haven't seen him for a few years so perhaps he has passed on as sapaul has stated, i remember today tonight did a story on him a few years back also they named a racehorse after him trained by p sander (i think) at gawler & when the horse won he would go 'beserk' in the crowd (yes the horse was called super sid)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

In the days before the players received premiership medallions, Super Sid used to go into the Norwood changerooms after a premiership win and hand out his own trophies to players. If I live to be 100 I'll never understand how a supporter can just change allegiances to another club. I can understand players and coaches doing it, but never supporters.
