I'd say a fair whack of that was Dogs supporters, didn't seem to be many Westies fans there.

For a home game one would've thought a few more diehards would have gone. Thought the premiership setup West have out the front of the ground looks good.

I was there Saturday and yes us Westies supporters would have been out numbered by Dogs supporters. It was the same for the previous game at Richmond against the Roosters, their supporters well out numbered us!

I think our performance this year will seriously affect our membership numbers next season.

The premiership might be the worst thing to happen to Westies in years then!

The day after last years GF I was stunned, simply stunned at how many people were at the clubrooms. No joke, about lunch time on the Monday there was 5 people in the bar and a 4 in the pokie room, the day after the first premiership in 30 years!!!!

( PS - The Grandstand at Alberton Oval is not the best place to snooze....)

Wow, what a dumb statement!!!
The club was buzzing on the night of the premiership.
We celebrated all night.
What do you expect people to do???
Take time off work to sit around the club???
On the Tuesday, a lot of fans went to the Brewery to see the chimney celebrations.

"Dumb statement"?
Buzzing?
All night?
Yep, you knew a week earlier that you were in the Grand Final, didn't you?

Foreign territory I guess.

Anyway, the reason I said it might have been the worst thing to happen to them was the recruiting that took place from AFL level at the end of the year. While Bonner and Snelling were likely to go anyway, perhaps without the top of the table success Beech might not have got a late call up to the highest level.

There are plenty of reasons.
Last year we were the fittest. This year we lack fitness.
Not much you can do about that when the best players break down in January.
We did get smashed in the draft but our off season recruiting was terrible.
Zac O'Brien and Trent Stubbs were recruited but have delivered very little.
Players expected to step up including Brind, Homburg and Anderson have played 0 games due to injury. Those 3 all played in the prelim final last year.
Fielke and Green kicked 80 goals between them last year.
They wouldn't have 10 between them this year.

What I do know is that this year we will go winless.
Absolutely guaranteed. We are a basket case.

No excuses in the world will account for a winless season....

Recruiting-terrible. Picked up a "star" that others overlooked which is now quite obvious why they did.

Too many behind the scenes people decided they were the important pieces in winning the premiership and their heads were as big as a hot air balloon

Everyone knew we were going to lose players in the draft.....except those in recruiting

Injuries had effectively killed the season, no stage have all played been available

No excuses just stupidity IMO

I guess another 32 year wait, if we are still around.

On a positive the treasurer had granted the club a $207k tax rite off which should really help the club.
