To quote a high charting song from last year, "I wasn't expecting that"! Nice to finally get a win over South; certainly no sign that was coming at half time.

South have been enjoying those pie floaters a little bit too much this winter.

Is Ron Fuller still with the MFS? Could be a chance to return to the Panfers???

Is Gotch in trouble???

Maybe they should look at re-connecting with Don Scott.
Surely Rob Pyman is still in the mix?

 well played. Good to see some activity on the match threads, have been very bland this year.

Well, I wasn't expecting that.

South kicked the opening 3 goals inside 7 minutes and it felt as though a blow out could be on the cards. The Bays stayed in the contest, but Cross' goal at the 4 minute mark of the 3rd gave South its biggest lead of the day- 28 points.

From there it was 6.4 to 0.2. The Bays started winning the stoppages and South didn't work hard enough to generate any run/space. Unacceptable second half from South.

Seccull again was our best, love his attack on the footy. Rose and Brown were also ok. Liddle and Cross combined for 19 touches...

McFarlane, Sawford and Snook got plenty of it, and Scott led the way with 4 majors.

Umps were fine for 3 quarters but couldn't put the whistle away in the final term.

Two points squandered, yet another *^&*ing bye coming up.

Losing a game like this proves that you're complacent and lacking 'hunger'.

Our premiership aspirations are shot for another season.

Looks like the South players failed to turn up after half time, just like the Stout in the club!!

Indeed Saintal.

I think most people at the ground just thought you blokes had to run out for the second half and it was only a matter of time; problem being I reckon your players thought that too.

Yep, certainly the case. And when they thought they'd better wake up it was too late, as the Bays had all the run.

What a lame insipid performance....clearly ,to be defeated by the league basketcase South surely showed up and thought that was it....
a worry for the South coaching panel at this time of year...time to get our fat heads in order methinks...and a bye next week!!! followed by yet another in a few weeks time!! ffs..!!

from the bays point of view..it goes to show that the players can lift their performance from mundane to superhuman when its been clear their coach is under the pump.....pretty clear they will be tough to beat now that KC is waiting in the wings..

Ummm, Glenelg only re-signed Lokan a few weeks ago for 2 more years. Given the club's financial position, they won't be paying him out to try someone who's never coached & just left the MFS due to the heavy workload/better money that a media career is offering.
Onto the game, it was a case of South obviously thinking they'd come out after halftime & it would be a stroll in the park. They'd dominated a fair bit of the first 2 qtrs and a 10 goal win was a distinct possibility. But Glenelg's pressure at the ball lifted & tackles started sticking. There were at least 3 occasions where South players pulled out* of a ball to be won or heard footsteps in a marking contest - all due to Glenelg's pressure. The Bay's sensed this & kept at them which turned the game on its head.
To hold one of the apparent "contenders" to one major after halftime (also the first one which took them out to a 26 pt lead) and then keep them goalless in the final qtr when they had the aid of a 4 goal breeze was a gutsy effort & just makes me wonder where this effort was against West & North.
Anyways, The Bay's led all stats & we're good for the win. Joseph won the medal for BOG in the Carey-Darley Cup, but it could've gone to a few others like McFarlane who I thought was best, Earl, Sawford & Scott.
