Some Sunday games for Glenelg but I think you'll find most of the die hards want Saturday arvo, oh yeah, and a permanent bar on Snouts hill and a dunny......

i LOVE my sat arvo's at the footy but going on last year and in previous seasons our biggest crowds tend to be on the sundays.

Exactly that is what I'm saying three or four games (3 IMHO) on a Sunday, the rest on a Saturday
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Press release over on footy SA indicates they are planning to make the weekend of the AFL bye some kind of themed round. Will be interesting to see what they pull out of the hat to compete with last years 70's round.

I hope an 80s round and hopefuly we can repeat some 80s form, however I don't want to revisit 1983......

How can a Bays supporter say that?
I hate Sunday's too but the Sunday/public holiday Monday crowds at the Bay have been nothing short of sensational and a huge increase on the Bays normal Saturday crowds.
Surely for the good of your club you'd want more Sunday footy, ie more people following the bays, ie more money in your club's bank account?

i thought the same thing WEDGIE.

we had some good corwds on the sunday games and admittedly some of those people may have been badwagoners, there may have been other genuine supporters there who cant make saturdays due to work or sport commitments.

saturdays is the ideal footy day, but it has been proven that GLENELG get good crowds on sundays. Im sure the players and spectators would rather a large crowd on a sunday then a small crowd - no atmosphere on a saturday.

the club should be cashing in and trying to get sunday games.

SOUTH played a few more sunday games this season and they had an increase in attendance. a lot of those people that went on sundays were those that play in the local SFL comp on the saturdays.

I prefer smaller crowds- smaller lines ups to bar. Plus can have a few bevys with mates and go out after.

ha ha, fair enough, a man after my own heart, I did say the same thing at the Bay v North game on a Sunday earlier this year and at a few of the larger crowds involving North.
We could both perhaps become South fans if the Bays and North keep pulling in the crowds. ;)

I beleive the sanfl can really take advantage of this. The Showdown being played on a Saturday should definitely see no sanfl matches on the Saturday. It would be ridiculous to even contemplate it. I beleive that the sanfl should play a "rivalry round " ..

Port v Norwood at Norwood on Fri night

South V Glenelg at Noarlunga on Sunday

Eagles V Centrals Dbl header at Adelaide
North V Sturt--

west bye.

After last season the sanfl surely must be more creative and use some imagination when it comes to fixtures and competing against the afl.

I think if you want crowds the "battle of Cement hill" should be played at the Bay, Aren't most of you die hards on teh Adelaide Plains as Wedgie has pointed out on several occassions?

"The battle of cement Hill" , ...wonder what the trophy would look like?. yep for once your probably right Tassie, all the diehards seem to live on the flat, me included but I'll go anywhere to watch the boys, with the possible exception of Elizabeth and Prospect.

Bit much asking Centrals & Eagles to play each other 2 weeks in a row, Anzac Day is the week after the showdown weekend. Also Adelaide oval will be not usable. I suggest a North v Central game under lights at Elizabeth for the Saturday night, just leave your camera home Wedgie  Give the Eagles the bye that weekend, they'll all be watching the Crows anyway.
