Cupido In Baird Gone

Even though Cupido would be demanding a fair sum at least noone will be talking about the salary cap with this transaction as I think it was pretty common knowledge what Baird was on at the very least.
If South lose Cupido and Davey it could take away a lot of firepower but I think South might be on the right track in not holding onto someone like Cupido.
There's also some talk (Im not sure if its wrong or right) about Kenna having a look around at the moment, that would be cause for concern if it proved right but Cupido moving on wouldn't IMHO.
I hope Port don't overprice Cupido and pay him close to what they were paying Baird.
Ironic that they're replacing one player who just chases the $$ with another one.
Thought they would have learnt a lesson with players like Rhino, Chad Davis, etc but obviously not.

Seems to me that if you put two and two together that you see that South have obviously just signed Prendergast and people straight away said 'salary cap' but they'd probably told Cupido that he was going to have to accept less money or they've just straight out dumped him to fit Prendergast in.

Dash, I wouldn't spend too much time wondering about managing the salary cap. It's no secret how some clubs offer their players financial inducements outside the salary cap. I really don't know why the SANFL continues with the masquerade.

agree wedgie if cupido goes it wont upset south as much as it would if south lost kenna
cupido can go imho sure he is a class player but majority of games he was lazy and didnt really do much and id rather have a player that puts in every week than a class player that plays well every now and then.

Cupido might prove me wrong, but I see him as a player who is good when the team is firing, but when you need him to pull out something special, or in big matches, he tends to go missing. I agree, I think Kenna would be a much greater loss than Cupido.
