Brett White was on Sydney's list for a little while but I don't know if he counts as I don't think he played a game for Sydney.
Wintle played a couple for Adelaide.

I think you'll find there was a bit more going on there too.
Troy's suffered from chronic fatigue for a fair while now.

Weren't returning to Norwood, but Anthony Harvey, James Thiessen, Paul McCormack, Scott Direen, Dale Fleming and Robbie Neill were all quality players recruited after being delisted by AFL clubs ... All stayed for several seasons too.

Stephen Pitt and Andrew Pascoe were pretty useful players who returned after being drafted from the club.

Bayman, the decision to not play SANFL football at the end of his AFL career was entirely Scott Russells. He cited the huge commitment required to play SANFL football as the reason for him not wanting to come back to it, so headed directly to the amateur league.

There was a lot more going on than that.

Fair enough, I'll take that one on the chin
Know that I did hear these reasons used by Scott himself on radio but I guess that must have just been the PR friendly version.
I don't know though whether he would have pushed us over the Eagles or Central in 2000 and I doubt he would have had enough in the tank to still be going around in 2002.

odb, there was a bit more going on & sturt did not want him (i presume that meant the coaching staff) but he wanted to play & they said no, i was told by a few sturt players at the cremorne on several occaisions
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Also had Manfield return from Fitzroy. Was a handy player before going to Glenelg.
Allison returned from Sydney. Was nothing much and didn't do much at Glenelg either.
Iszac Thompson returned from the Bulldogs this year. What happened to him?
Crowell was useless once he came back from the Crows and did nothing at West.

We haven't had much luck with players returning to the club having only played juniors or limited league games. Our best players all made an impact before going to the AFL and came back to play some good footy (i.e. Tape, Pyman, Pesch etc).
