What's happened to Haseldine? Has he retired, or is still playing with North?

No word, wasn't listed as a departee in the yearbook.
The list was: Graeme Kellett, Daniel Hargraves, Andrew Moritz, James McEntee and Ryan Nye.
I'd think he's past it though.

He did well in his first few matches in 2005, then appeared to fade out.

Yeah, I don't think you'll find North paying a player up front ever again. Definately a mistake, and a big one at that.

no wonder Mcentee is leaving ???

lol, yeah, even though he had more chance in 2006 as opposed to 2005 when he played league! Seriously, for his position he was probably unlucky that Perrie played games for North in 2006 and not 2005 as that was probably the difference. Speaking of, has anyone heard the latest on McEntee?
Last I heard he was having talks with the Bays.
He's on hol's at the moment. I'll ask him when he get's back

Tallys so far

North 14 locals out of 41 players.
Norwood 20 locals out of 37 players.
Centrals 27 locals out of 38 players.
Port 17 locals out of 36 Players.

North Adelaide 35% local talent (can't wait to see South's)

Well done North on giving Gatto Wakelin and Shubert a second chance. Schubert was a real surprise this season.

Doubt Sturt would have improved with Tate Kaesler though.

I didnt think that was too bad, has anyone done us at richmond yet, ah that will be ok because in 2006 we did use a lot of locals, bloody disgrace norfs. Get a life, just because norwood cant afford a pen to even sign blokes

This is by a well respected and informed poster from db.org who did SFC's breakdown. Great effort.

By my reckoning we used 43 players at A-grade level in 2006.
22 - Homegrown
6 - Other SANFL clubs
4 - AFL
8 - From interstate clubs
3 - From SA country outside our zone

I've classified as "Homegrown" all those who originated within our metro and country zone. Most of these would have played in our junior grades at some time. I've only included as "AFL" those who came to us in the mini draft.

Agreed, Gatto's an absolute gun who would probably be my favourite player.
Very underestimated and I'd have him in our top 10 when fit.
Hard to imagine he was playing for Eastern Park not that long ago

Well you might be able to go watch him playing for the demons again this year. I spoke to him last night and he said he was pretty much a definate to play with the demons.

I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago at the B&F and he said that old chestnut was just a joke and that he'd definately be fronting up for North in 2008.

2007 as well i hope

Eagles used 46, could only account for 44 with a quick count:

Club-developed - 28 (including blokes like Price, Stacey, who I think both only played Rd1)

Mini-Draft - 2 (Knights, McKenzie)

AFL Recruits - 2 (Lindsay, Hall)

Other SANFL clubs - 5 (including Pedler)

VFL/Vic country recruits - 6 (including Colville)

Plus Shattock, who was recuited from interstate as a junior, then drafted to AFL, so not sure which category he fits into
