"great writer" isn't a pronoun just an adjective and a noun Punky, so capitals at the start of both words are grammatically incorrect.

Get into him dash!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I believe Skipworth is a Jack Oatey medalist. 2006?
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

the award (apparently) is called the "Great Writer's" award- just like the "Magarey Medal", as it was named after Sir Great Writer, inventor of the book we now know as the Dictionary...

Hasn't the salary cap increased for next year? If big spenders North can afford to bring home 3 ex AFL players on top of their recruits for this year as well as another gun VFL recruit, the Eagles should be fine. Perhaps this is the reason the Eagles have not announced any recruits at all for next year at this stage.

I hope Skipworth stays on at the Eagles unlike past delistings like Crowell, Manfield, Shattock etc.

I don't think we'll have any problems keeping him mate. He's a loyal Eagle and has always enjoyed playing with us more than he did the Crows anyway. I Heard somewhere Shattock had decided to leave us, hardly surprising but very disapointing none the less.

This is by no means a certainty, actually. He has definitely been contacted by a number of clubs, one of whom a teammate has played for previously. Eagle fans wouldn't want to be celebrating just yet about this one. He is considering his options in every way.

DELISTED Crow Hayden Skipworth is no certainty of playing for Woodville-West Torrens next season.

His manager Brenton Hart said "every man and his dog" had contacted him enquiring about Skipworth's future.
The talented Eagles premiership on-baller will inform the club next week if he will continue at Woodville Oval, where his league career began.

Eagles chief executive John Kantilaftas put a revised offer to Skipworth on Wednesday.

"Hayden said this is where he wants to play and we made him an offer," Kantilaftas said.

"We in discussions and he has gone home (to Yorke Peninsula) to speak to his parents about it."

Hart said Skipworth, 24 in February, would carefully consider his future, which might extend for up to a decade.

"I'd say his intention is to play for the Eagles unless something else comes along that's attractive," he said.

"We haven't had any formal talks apart from the Eagles but we've had calls from all over Australia.

"My standard answer to them is he is talking to the Eagles but if that falls over we might be interested in talking." Skipworth, who played 42 AFL matches with Adelaide since 2001, was overlooked in Tuesday's pre-season draf

Who'd want Brenton Hart as their manager?
Kiss of death!
2 of his clients in the PSD, 2 clients now without an AFL home

My gut feeling is he will stay. Altough he's played AFL and now also won a P/ship, so maybe all he wants now is the best deal $$$$ he can get. Where that is who knows??
I trust the club to do the correct thing. No one player is bigger then the club. What's the point of having one of the highest paid players in the comp, if you cant put a good side around him.
Skippy came thru jnrs and is an Eagle boy, so hopefully this pulls on his heart strings.
Maybe a future Eagle captain?

He's not going anywhere. Any smart player (and his Manager) would be talking up the fact he has been chased by other clubs (whether true or not) to drive his asking price/contract up at his "home" club. Can anyone seriously see the Eagles allowing him to go anywhere other than back to the AFL which now seems a distant memory for Skippy.
