For accuracy it's Doug Oakley.

For Stats: Phil Herden

For "Sexy Entertainment lol:" Paul Blandis.

Surely when he calls SANFL, David Wildy is the best caller and I think by a fair margin too. At least there's not 30 sausage rolls mentioned on the Caddle Crash scoreboard all day.

Bugger, I just had a look but I can't read the forums or comments on Footysa (I get an error saying "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.") so if you expanded I'd be grateful, Ive heard of Phil to LifeFM but where is Doug Oakley going?

Not sure where/if Doug Oakley is going, but yes, Phil seems to be moving over. A huge loss for RPH without a doubt, but a great gain for Life; very professional caller who will add plenty to their coverage, and leaves big shoes for RPH to fill.

WILDY

Postby redden whites » Sat Mar 03, 2007 9:22 pm

After saying it is Doug Oakley earlier in the thread I must instantly do a backflip.I was at The Pizza place on Morphett rd and heard Wilds on 5AA calling the NAB cup game from Darwin and heard this..." and Damon White uses his big frame to get front position and for NorthEast and Southland Mitsubishi takes the mark"...now anyone who can get the plug in mid sentence while calling it live has got to take some beating.

Sorry, but the 5AA callers are much better than the rest -- and so they should be -- they get paid for it.

The RPH/Life guys sound like enthusiastic amateurs -- which is what they are as I understand it.

That's true. I have a mate who 5AA contacts and put him on air as a caller. Pathetic isn't it? I listen to SEN and I enjoy it, but it's obvious a number of their callers are plants as well. The announcers bring up a point, and then incredibly the very next caller wants to talk about the very same thing. This sort of thing annoys me as it's an attempt to influence how people think.

As for Paul Blandis, listening to him call a Glenelg game has the same effect as a box of laxettes.

Ditto, love him.

Of all time: Ian Aitken & Gary Window were great together in the old days on 5AD.
