In the cheer squad days, used to roll a few cans into the flags. Can get a whole slab in if you're clever.

I know that West End usually use Bore water or something like that and not use the Murrey River.
I usually have soft drinks.

Was it to make it easier for the bar staff?
Was it to stop people from pushing in?
Is it so not as many bar staff have to be employed?
I think what they would have saved in less bar staff, they would have well and truly lost (and then some) in lost sales through people just deciding that it was too hard to have to wait that long.
It seems as though as well that most SANFL clubs are running on a tight ship in regards to paying accounts as running out of booze would seem unforgivable given that there's always going to be another home game in two weeks time.
I do know a couple of people that are/have been involved with Norwood and I'd be interested to hear of their thoughts.

To be fair I think that I should also add that it wasn't very good by us in the game against Glenelg a couple of weeks ago to have run out of nearly all lines of alcohol by just after half time at the northern end of Unley Oval.

$5 per can at Thebarton last week! They would be paying less than $1 per can for Draught - it seems quite unjustified (other than the fact people pay it).

A comparison with non-alcoholic beverage prices could probably answer that question.

Whilst I'm at it, big ups to the Sturt Footy Club for selling Soup at the ground ... Meant I could feel my hands for at least 10 minutes on Saturday! :D

When you buy a hat from the merchandise van, does it come with a free bowl of soup?

$10 X 30 games = 300 bucks!!
North have always had either the outright cheapest piss or equal cheapest piss since Ive been following them, I hope they continue that this year. One year the CEO even asked for my input re the beer prices a couple of years ago, I told him it should stay as is at that stage and sure enough they did!
Mind you I reckon I'll be saving some money this year, I can just handle Tooheys New but couldn't even get past one can of West End Draught on Saturday, horrible swill. I might save all my money for Norwood Oval where you can have the best beer in the world on top, Im just glad Im not a Norwood supporters otherwise I'd be broke (or in the liver ward) inside Round 10!

Wedgie...cans of beer were $5.00 at Prospect 2 weeks ago..i noticed a lot of known drinkers
refusing to pay that much for a can of beer.

They are killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. While a dollar isnt a huge deal its the principal.

In my opinion they should charge 3bucks for west end. There 40 bucks a carton profit in that. Somewhere between 3 and 4 is reasonable.

Bzzt, wrong mate, they were $4.00 and were $4.00 again last weekend, I should know as I bought quite a few each game.
Cheapest beer in SA.
$5 at Thebby with no choice of heavy beer and $4 at Prospect with a choice of Tooheys New or West End Draught, I can handle Tooheys New.
Its time other clubs looked after their drinkers as much as North do. :D

You were at the wrong bar Wedgie. The one by the commentary position had New. Someone was making some good money though that day, $5 for heavy $4.50 for light and $3 for water :x on a fairly warm day. Ahhh, the local community footy & cricket clubs, $3.50-4.00 for a Pale depending on venue. :D

Thebby Oval last season for a couple of games (not sure of someof the others) had AAMI Stadium/SANFL staff running the catering and when I queried the larger than normal prices I was told the SANFL and AAMI Catering set them so that may explain the Thebby prices.

As for Prospect prices Wedgie is spot on with the beer prices.

Sadly UDL/Mixer cans etc went up to $6 last Sat. from $5 the previous Prospect game due to a price increase from the suppliers. The new Taj bar staff have however been happy about not being over worked due to the poor drawing power of West and it being a Sunday game and South's poor following and the weather last Saturday.

The next 2 home games against Sturt and Centrals (hopefuly with good weather) might draw a few more drinkers (I mean fans ) to the games and make them earn their money!
