Eagles will recover and as I have stated before, the Bays are gone already as they have dropped Sturt and West.

It would be pretty hard to come back for whichever team loses this one. Massive game for 2 clubs who probably expected to make finals and push for top 3 positions at the start of the season. This is how I'd pick my side for the weekend:

FF: Dabrowski Passador Lomas
HF: Symmons Grocke Treeby
C: Jarrad Cicolella Petrenko
HB: R Fiacchi Pedler McKenzie
FB: P Fiacchi Salter Stewart
R: Lindsay Powell Cooper
I: Fairclough Pedersen Klun

Outs: McGregor (Crows), Redden & Fitzgerald just need to refine their game in the reserves.

Ins:
Petrenko - has been injured, but looked fine in his first reserves game for the season on the weekend, must give him a chance IMO and I'd play him on the wing where he can play his own game. Has that spark which we have lacked with the absence of Inkster.
Pedersen - has improved a lot and I'd use him as the 2nd ruck option so Lindsay and Dabrowski can be used forward more often. If the Eagles are going to play the way they do when entering the forward 50, they can't rely on Passador to do everything, nor can they expect Lindsay to ruck all day and pinch hit up forward.
R Fiacchi - looked to be back near his best in the reserves on the weekend and is a first choice player when fit, so he will be a certain pick I would think.

Yeah, I would have said Hier straight into the team, but he didn't look right fitness wise in the ressies on the weekend and spent a fair bit of time on the bench. I rate Salter pretty highly and think he was good at Full Back on Cupido, but when Hier does come back into the side, Salter could be used elsewhere either taking an opposition tall forward or playing forward himself.

Can't say I've been all that impressed with the team lately but...

You lot writing us off please go back to last year, the club was 2 wins 3 losses after 5 rounds & won the flag 8)

The evenness of the competition means we are still only 3 games off 2nd & Port haven't had their bye yet.

Enjoy baggin' us while you can non-performers ( supporters of Norwood, Bays, South, etc. ), the colours are still on the chimney until October @ least.

If you want EDUCATED comment on our form  :

I believe that too many of our players are currently standing around waiting for others to do the work @ present  .
Cicca didn't look fit on Sat.
Our midfield is NOT making use of Lindsey's dominance in ruck :o .
Too many forwards out of form, seems Grocke has really struggled since being almost KO'd by Bennet @ Encounter Bay ( that was a cheap shot by the way, was right in front of us & if it was a TV game, he would have got matches)

Clearly we are struggling at present but there's still a long way to go & injuries will affect some clubs above us as the year prgresses.

Don't knock the Bloods either, they have a focal point in Cupido & some very talented younger players.

As for a lack of comment on this site 'Tassie' & others, I have been on holidays from work for the last 3 weeks but am back now & plenty to come. Also, got 'hounded' at the start of season because this site is clearly 'tamer & lamer' than the previous footysa site, but I will be sure to add more as the year progresses
Stephen Trigg & Rob Chapman are SA Football Patriots

I think she went over to Vietnam to cheer the troops on or something. If you look through the old black and white photos there are plenty of decent bikini shots of her. 40 years ago mind you.

Here's another one Spelly. What have been the records of the best non finalists since the 9 team comp came back with a top 5 finals series? I would hypothesise that when you're having to make history to miss out on finals you're probably going to make it in.

Dead right. Sturt were beating us at half time at Elizabeth which would have really left us a long way behind. Some sturt player got the Gowans into a bit of a half time fight, we came out firing and won 16 in a row to take the flag. If the sturt players had just left the dogs' players alone our malaise may have continued longer than it did.

LEH don't flatter yourself unless you are dyslexic, I was referring to EHL...

Didn't even notice you hadn't been posting, play on.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Once again what about Batsanis .Last two weeks named on the bench but not given a game.
And we should perhaps bring up some more youth into our forward line Mathew Broadbent looks like he could play .And If we play Petrenko could we play cody hicks as well ?
Grocke up forward is not doing alot since he lost weight he hasn't been in great form. And Passadors marking on saturday he kept dropping uncontested marks in the first half.
And on his game in the two's dont think Vinnie should be a walk up start either.

Can you play Pederson and Dabrowski in the same league team .And lindsey looked like he was getting beat in the first half .And why with two ruckmen in the side did Macgregor ruck late in the last term westies took the ball away to easy and scored goals.

And out of left field Crows fans are complaining about Bock perhaps Bock back from the Crows and a swap for macgregor .Mind you Macgregor up forward looked at the start like he shouldve come back through the twos. But boy can he grab a mark in a pack.

All I can say is Come on Ron bring in some youth and pace even if it means U17/19 playing off the bench.we need pace so bad it aint funny.

i think that with him playing back pocket contributed to us missing finals, at least so far this year he has been played where he was recruited to play........

Should put him on the wing as he doesn't need to be in the forward line to kick goals he's that bloody good at the long goal, great to watch.
Im looking forward to this game on Sunday, will be venturing down to my favourite ground to enjoy the game.

thats very true, he can kick goals from the wing, especially at the bay.

given the first two games this year, he has played up forward and most of the supporters were saying the loss to sturt by a point cost us finals last year, whereas I believe that there were 4 or 5 games that we lost that we controlled for the greater part of the game. Now I believe that by playing Mitch in the back pocket cost us playing finals last year, given he could be a 50+ goal per year forward.
