I can't remember the Dog's being complacent against North. North will have to be at their very best to win today, their best can win, anything less and we have no chance.

Dogs are never complacent against North, they're too professional for that, wouldn't suprise me if an even better Central than we've seen in other games rocks up as these are the sort of games they usually make a statement of by winning by more than 10 goals.

Well first quarter was tight with alot of mistakes (especially by the dogs), but also alot of defensive pressure.

The second was a bit the same with dogs not fully switched on. North got a couple of gimme goals, and looked good in some passages.

Third was a bit more free flowing, with the dogs seem to be getting their act together.

Last quarter was formality. Dogs kicked into gear and completely dominated (all bar a quick rush by north when dogs cruised a bit).

Still no 4 quarter effort and winning. Its going to happen soon.

Cocks were OK, dogs just that little bit better for longer than North could manage. I think the signs were always there for the dogs - as soon as they hit targets North were going to be in trouble.

Great day in the sun, enjoyed paying only $4 for a beer.

Schell was great all day in defence, as was Wilson - easily our best 2. The midfielders shared the honours in the second half with no standouts in the first, while Lawry remains unconvincing up forward. Westhoff took a couple of cracking marks, would be starting to push for a power game sometime soon. Ware looked slow today, I presume he was carrying some form of injury or illness as he lacked his normal spark (however he still had some superb passages of play).

That's all I can be stuffed writing on the game. 3 games clear on top so early in the season has to be some kind of record.

Heard he did his ankle in a tackle.
Was watching the game from the bench and was on crutches.

Cheers John. I always figure if you have nothing of value to add, then you should add something useless.

I believe it was a tackle that caused him to fall awkwardly - looked like an ankle injury. He tried to walk off but took the stretcher when it got to him.

With me it's the other way around. If I can't think of something useless to say, then I try to come up with something of value :)

I think the dogs had started their run before the incident, but definately would have made match ups hard as he was playing well.

The score may have been that but centrals had just kicked a goal and started to get their run going before the incident.I think the tide was turning before then, just in general game play.

As I said before I disagree, yes the Dogs had kicked the previous goal, but North had kicked the previous goal prior to that. The Dogs were hardly dominating prior to Motlop going down, in fact it was the opposite and North's most dominant piece of the game comfortably.
Ive watched the replay and Central didn't seem to have any more control then than at anytime in the first half.
After Motlop went off it was a different story though and the stats/goals show that.
I could be wrong but the Dogs might have kicked the next 6 or 7 in a row from then on.
If a 2/3 goal lead turned into a 5 goal defecit isn't the turning point of a game I don't know what is.
The stats tell the story as does the replay of the game.

PS Good to see North's reserves in fine form today comfortably beating the Dogs, looks like we're back on track for a threepeat! :D

Central 16-7 103
North 10-8 68

Just to reiterate my earlier point, I just watched the replay again.
Scores when Motlop went down:

North 46
Central 34

And in a low scoring game that was a good lead.

Central's actually pounded on the next 8 goals in a row after Motlop went down.
Motlop went down at the 15 min mark of the 3rd qtr, North scored their next goal at the 13 min mark of the 4th qtr.

No Motlop, No North. :(
