Harry Miller is going alright. He got dropped for 1 match but is back in now. Played a couple of resonable games. LeCras has been pretty solid up forward and big Hargraves is starting to find his feet. Will be handy when fit!

Dash 61: Thiele, Thiele, Thiele, Thiele whats happened lad,,, Cupido is great, Barber & McCormick have been very good but Im sorry Cupido is a match winner

Im sorry das but gotta disagree. McCormick has been our best. He has been as consistant as anyone and his level of consistancy has been great.

Cupido is a match winner? He has missed some very important goals when he should have nailed them (glenelg & norwood stick in my mind), not to mention the fact that he missed the first game (which was a big game) due to poor discipline.

Barling and McCormick have been westies best recruits so far. Dont just judge by reputation!

Harry Miller will struggle, too lazy and plays too much
for himself.

When he actually plays for the team he looks very good.

Justin Perkins - Quiet achiever as such. Been playing solely in a back pocket so far. Has done his job reasonably well most weeks whilst sometimes adding some run out of defence. Good mark. Deceptively tall.
Averages: 17.6 disp, 5.4 marks, 3.3 tackles

Brad Murray - Been injured for all bar the last few weeks. Didnt have much of a pre season so has missed a lot of prep. Played the last two games switching from a back flank to a forward flank and looks set to be a regular for the rest of the year. A good pick up.
Averages: 17 disp, 5 marks, 3.5 tackles

Harry Miller - Dissapointing. Good pre season, good early in the season but has struggled since round 3. Hasnt kicked a goal since round 3 and goes missing at crucial times. Been dropped once, a chance to be dropped again this week. Definately need more.
Averages: 13.6 disp, 3.1 marks, 2 tackles, 1 goal (7.5 total)

Joel Perry - Similar to Baird. Not the weight of disposals that Baird got but equally effective. Very courageous, great mark, provides good run and has barely been beaten. One of the recruits of the year.
Averages: 15.6 disposals, 5 marks

Brent Lecras - Solid performer at CHF all year. Always provides a contest and works hard with and without the ball. A couple of poor games (eg. 0.5 against Sturt) but some very good games as well. Needs to be more consistent but has kicked 3 bags of 3 and 1 bag of 4 goals. Effectiveness lessened since Hargraves came into the side.
Averages: 13.1 disp, 4.8 marks, 2 goals (16.9 total)

Daniel Batson - Had an excellent pre season playing mainly up forward, kicking multiple goals a game. Struggled for both gametime and effectiveness in his league games. Got dropped to reserves when Maric was fit and should be back up when Maric goes to the Crows. Needs to do more when on the ground.
Averages: 6.6 disp, 2.4 marks, 9 hitouts, 0.2 goals (total 1.0)

Daniel Hargraves - Really looked to have slimmed down in the pre season. Had an injury interrupted start to the year and started the year in the reserves in round 3. Made the league side in Round 5 and has been a good contributor since then. Accuracy needs a fair bit of improvement but he has provided a great tall option which has allowed Waterhouse to roam a bit more free as well. Great bargain pick up.
Averages: 7.8 disp, 4.5 marks, 2.5 goals (total 10.9)

Luke Jarjoura - Inconsistent start to the year. Played a mix of Full Forward and across the midfield. Provided a strong body to throw around. Doesnt mind a good bump and when on song can be a hard to beat footballer. Kicked 4 goals against the Eagles. Missed the last two weeks
Averages: 9.8 disp, 3.3 marks, 1.2 goals (total 7.6)

Daniel Stringer - 204cm skinny ruckman from the country. Needs a lot of work on mobility. Quite slow but his tap work is decent.
Reserves: 6 games, 1 goal

Nathan Krakouer - N/A

Macca,

Always enjoy reading your thoughts and analysis ... A couple of questions for you ...

1) Any of those ex-AFL blokes a chance at re-draft in your opinion ... I've been impressed with Le Cras, but have only seen him a coupla times.

2) Hargraves a bargin? I would have thought you would have forked out a reasonable $ for him?

3) Jarjoura missed at selection or due to injury?

Would have been filthy with Hargraves if he'd have been playing for my team on Saturday. Too often he leapt from one or two deep and certainly didn't do too much to stop his defender running off him. CP has informed me that he once kicked seven for North against Norwood but other than that he's never really impressed me that much. Notwithstanding nice guy status and all.

1) Only Perry in my opinion. I'd say hes a decent chance at getting re-drafted. The others probably not

2) Ginever has said hes not on a lot. Others here may know more than I would though.

3) Injury I assume.

Justin Perkins - Ive been impressed with this guy. Hard at it. Puts his body on the line and not afraid to take a hit, especially for a contested mark, where he punches above his weight. Smart footballer who has shown good consistancy. Has freed Poults to play other positions.

Brad Murray - only seen a little bit of this guy, but looks comfortable at league level. Should play an important role in the midfield this year.

Harry Miller - dissapointed me on his return to Alberton. Needs to work a lot harder, very lazy at times. Highly skilled, but needs the work rate to go with it. If his work rate improves, will be one of the most dangerous players in the league.

Joel Perry - disagree with macca on this one. He has played pretty well so far this year, but is also lazy. One on one he will beat his opponent most times, but when his opponent has the ball, Perry somehow finds a treadmill on the oval. Needs to put more effort into getting to a contest, and on his decision making. Has cost us a few goals by punching the ball out of the air towards their goals when he is about 30m out, resulting in an opponent running into an open goal.

Brent Lecras - very good recruit. Works as hard as anyone, and like Perkins, is couragous. Good footballing brain. Hope his time at Alberton is a long one.

Daniel Batson - hasn't done a lot at league level after a very good preseason. Haven't seen much of the reserves this year to say how he has gone since being dropped. Hopefully Maric goes to the Crows soon because he has been absolutely pathetic since he has come back from injury. Doesn't work hard enough and has very sloppy hands.

Daniel Hargraves - jury is out in him still. Drops too many easy marks and misses to many easy goals for my liking. Once he starts taking the marks and actually kicking through the ball, he will be dominant. Works well with Clive though, which is the most important thing. He will improve as the year goes on.

Luke Jarjoura - Has a booming kick. Would be one of the longest kicks in the league. Very good skills, but needs to be more consistant. Plays with passion, which sometimes turns to anger!

Daniel Stringer - haven't seen enough of the reserves to form a judgement on him yet.
