For West End not to produce a Norwood Stubby Holder as some type of protest that Norwood are sponsored by Coopers is so incredibly juvenile its not funny.

West End can beat Coopers if they make a better product, they choose not to and they lose in S.A, its their commercial decision to do that. Norwood have been sponsored by Coopers for many years and it is part of the heritage of the club, what SANFL supporter does not know where "Coopers Hill" is?

West End are a Japanese company anyway, so I am not surprised that they are unable to connect with the local culture of South Australia. The sooner the SANFL gets Coopers on board as the corporate sponsor and sends back all the West End dispensing equipment from all the clubs and replaces it with Coopers the better! That will at least be one way of increasing the patronage!

Norwood have probably signed an exclusive contract with Coopers which stops SA Brewing using the Norwood logo.

Coopers brew beer, West End brew something but its definately not beer.... ;)

Always amazes me how people get so worked up over beer. If you don't like the taste fine but does that mean it's crap? I don't like the taste of prawns but i don't think they are crap or that people who eat them are stupid.

And I'm amazed how worked up you are over my comment. :? Just a joke mate do you work for West End or something?? You don't like prawns?? :)

Nah, wasn't getting worked up. Came across like that though. Apologies. Just a general comment on how people condemn certain beers because they don't happen to like the taste.

No i don't like prawns nor any shellfish really. Not big on seafood at all. :vom: :vom:

Does anyone have any idea what the West End sponsorship of the SANFL is worth each year?

I don't know what Coopers is worth to Norwood but I would estimate the naming rights for the ground would have cost around $300,000 for 3 years.

I got one of these on the weekend, actually only bought a 6 pack of scotch and cokes but Mrs Wedgie turned on the charm to get one. Cool stubby holders but I reckon I'll keep it in the plastic as North gear is so collectable.
Might have to track down my mate who works in West End marketing to get the whole set, I agree Coopers should make a Norwood one so they don't miss out.

Interesting rumour doing some of the traps, that some areas of West End are allegedly not happy with how some sponsorship they put up for a local media area, may allegedly not be being used in the completely intended manner. The area in question was supposed to have a lot more publicity etc with this sponsorship, but it hasn't transpired. Worth keeping an eye on.

How childish of West End.
Im lucky I get to support the best team and drink the best beer.
Dont know of any true Norwood supporter than does not drink Coopers. Still I'd drink Coopers even if I did'nt support Norwood......worlds best beer......just ask Wedgie he's a good judge...of beer not football clubs !
