PhilH wrote:Or the other hypothetical.

Given he didnt play at all last week as emergencey and the Crows then say he needs to play a game next week (Rd 11) when Norwood has a bye
does that mean
he will go back to the lowest ranked Reserves side
..... West Adelaide?

From what I gather Phil,he might not get that good of a reception upon his return.

I dont think West tried too hard to hold onto him.

Won't happen.

I'd say it's more likely John Meesen will be at Broadspectrum this week.

Who is bottom in the reserves ?
If the Crows want can they send Meeson somewhere and does that mean Jerico would go to a different reserves team/club ?
In other words do two players go to the same club or are they spread over two clubs ?

Oh yes and does Meeson weigh the same as a duck ?.....and therfore ?

I thought I heard that Goodwin was going but Massie was travelling in case Goodwin doesn't pull through. Is Jericho going to travel as well?

Re AFL players in the reserves, I think that they have to be spread out. If 2 players scheduled on a SANFL bye are required to play in the ressies they go to the 9th and 8th placed teams. This week I can think of 4 Norwood players who could realistically be expected to trot out in another reserves team this week

Minson (Pahrr), Meeson (Crows), Cockshell (Power) and Pfeiffer (Crows) could have all been (or may be)asked to play ressies this week for form/fitness reasons.

Norwood has 11 AFL listed players at Crows and Power and having a bye the week before both the AFL teams do, does potentially make things hard as far as listed players go. Campbell (Crows) Jericho (Crows), Massie (Crows-named), Lower (Power-named), Rodan (Power), Bassett (Crows), Thomas (Power) in addition to the four named in the paragraph above complete the 11 on Norwood's list and of those, only Rodan and Bassett are secure selections leaving 9 other players fluctuating anywhere between reserves and AFL selections.

Next year the SANFL draw may see AFL clubs seeking that SANFL clubs with fewer listed AFL players are scheduled for the bye that backs on to the AFL rest week at split round time.
