That's cheap if you're used to paying $5 for a cup of mid strength urine at Subiaco.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

from when i saw it, 3 or 4 weslo's had 2 guys outside pinned down, a couple of the security guards where laying into one bloke, who's wife/gf tried to get them off him, then the guy in Westies gear started swinging at her, im pretty sure one did connect.

if anything they aggravated the situation, both guys were outside the ground and seperated, but Weslo saw the need to start punching the sturt supporter while he was pinned up against a car, bringing his gf into the picture, and starting the whole thing up again worse than it was to begin with.

yet if you look at the sturt website they have a different version.... no guy in a westies jumper....?

I walked past the incident as I was leaving. The security guy's had one Sturt supporter & a Port supporter restrained as they waited for the police.

Apparently what happened (from asking Sturt & Port supporters who witnessed the incident) was these two supporters were arguing and confronting each other. It must of been fairly heated as the (girlfriend/ wife / partner or whatever is politically correct) of the Sturt supported threw a few (and connected with quite a few on the Port supporter). The Port supporter reacted and decked the female.

Then it was apparently it was on between the 2 men. As I was walking past when the police had arrived and I could still see the female having some strong words towards the Port supporter. I could only imagine what was said.

So it sounds like the sturt woman threw a few punches at the port supporter so he defended himself by throwing one back at her. Then her boyfriend stepped in. I don't feel any pity towards the woman if that's what happened.

If you look through the entire thread, you'll see it was actually two North fans who brought Centrals into the equation.
They were using sarcasm.

On topic, sorry to see/hear about this. It doesn't reflect the true fans.

Well the answer is obvious. Sturt and Port are no longer allowed to play each other on saturday afternoons. Oh no, thats right, these draconian measures only apply when the problem involves trouble at Centrals games.

I am not sure that the SANFL can really do any more to prevent brawling at the footy, they already have set up family friendly areas where they are quite definate about what behaviour can occur in there, that measure seems to be one of the things that has increased SANFL attendances in recent years.

Fighting most certainly happens at AFL venues at AFL games, they just dont publicise it. Adelaide oval has its share of fights in the afternoon - evening of one day matches, last time I was there two people were belting the hell out of each other with wooden chairs!

People can enjoy themselves without any fear of violence at an SANFL game, simply take a seat in the family area and if on the way to your car on the way home some drunken bogan happens to give you a mouthfull simply ignore them. Yet often when these incidents happen it is because drunken bogan a, meets drunken bogan b, and there is little that the SANFL can do about that. People that get seriously tanked at the football have usually brought in something stronger than what is available at the ground anyway.

The SANFL should get on the front foot and advertise the family friendly areas on their TV ad and have people give the other side of the story that an afternoon out an SANFL game is one of the best value entertainment items you can come by in winter in S.A!
