OMG!!!

Geez, we fly up and down based on one or 2 weeks

Mickan was on the chopping block 3 weeks ago, they won the 'biggest let-down of 2007' survey ... now we are speculating on a top 5 finish!

Lesson learned .... don't judge teams too soon, either way

Cracks me up :D

I reckon we can make it IF we play the footy of the past 2 weeks, a lot of 2006 about those games...especially with a midfield that probably ranks in the Top 3 in the comp....Sellar could be the wildcard up forward that we need

What an odd season. Sturt have been 2nd with a % under 50 for a fair chunk of the season, they only narrowly got it over the 50 on Saturday. Now Glenelg are 2nd bottom with the 3rd best %!

Norwood or Eagles are vulnerable....cant see any of the teams apart from the bays displacing them unless Port get their act together

There are some big games coming up in the next few weeks.

Sturt have Norwood, Glenelg, bye then South
North have South, West and Norwood
Norwood have Sturt, Central and North
Eagles have Central, Port and West
Port have Glenelg, Eagles and South
South have North, bye, Port then Sturt
Glenelg have Port, Sturt and Central

I reckon if the teams are serious about making the finals they'll need to be winning 2 out of 3. Sturt and North would be expected to break away in this period IMO leaving the rest to fight for 4th and 5th as Dutchy said.

It's turning out to be a very interesting season and with the closeness of percentage from 2nd to 2nd bottom, just shows how even it is.

sure they can, i dont think the 5 is anywhere near settled. Sturt and Norwood are the surprise packets but anything can happen. Sometimes teams have 2nd half fadeouts etc and others can come storming home.

but its all up to them, i personnaly dont think they will make the 5 as they will need other results to go there way and they will have to win atleast 7 minimum. Hmm, further thinking, i seriously doubt it now.

The bays are 1 game out of the 5 and West 2 games out (although playing poorly at present) and we are just on half way thru the season.
It will be a brave person to start prediciting who is going to make it and how the final configuration will be made up based on some of the results so far this year?

The only safe prediction is Centrals to finish with the double chance at this stage - every other spot is up for grabs still IMO.

Could be a pretty big crowd at the first finals double header if Port move into 5th at the Eagles expense and the rest of the 5 stays as is.

As for Glenelg they were very good against North and if they can keep playing that type of footy they are a chance but there's a long way to go.

Not sure who it was but one poster mentioned Glenelg were playing well at the right time of the year. I would have thought the right time of year would have been in the finals. Scary thing is that's when Central generally play their best footy and as good as they've been i don't think they've played near their best yet

I believe that Glenelg can make the five. I also believe that any of the teams from first to eighth have the potential to play in the GF this year. So, if Glenelg do make the five, it is not inconceivable that they could play off in the GF. Then again.......

absolutely spot on

but STURT would be pushing the BIG 4 this season as they are going great guns.

we did beat North and port, and i wouldnt have put them in the BIG 4 category.

most teams are even apart from CENTRAL.

its not who the BAYs knock out, its more so which of the teams in the 5 and teams above start losing games while we hopefully win enough.

never know we will probably miss out on the 5 by a game or %

Think the next 3 weeks probably tells the story for the Legs 2 wins in that time and I think we'll be right, 1 win and we're still a chance, 0 wins (and effectively 0-2 against both Dogs and Roosters) and we're probably shot ... Intriguing season alround and I agree that it's still too early to make any confident predictions (with the exception of Centrals and North).

North may also be venerable, or at least till they can get Gill, Walker etc up and running. I expected them to be front runners this year

So based on the recent past - e.g North's lowest finish in the past 3 seasons being 4th, where would you put them if you think they are not in the top 4 clubs in the league presently. Just to refresh my memory I looked at the table and we are sitting third, played one game less than evey other club and have long injury list. Seriously some of you Bays fans have shot your load since you beat North?

in my last sentence i did say that most teams are even apart from CENTRALS.

North may have finished 3rd in recent years, but I wouldnt personally put them in a BIG 4 category.

havent you looked at Glenelgs injury list??????

ours isnt exactly small either

but then i forget the world revolves around red rooster

I still reckon Port is the only team with a realistic chance of breaking into the 5. Personally I reckon the teams already there will be playing finals footy. I love it how all these Bays supporters get over excited by a big win over a demoralised Westies seriously lacking in genuine talent.

Sorry for beating a team by 22 goals that two weeks ago you could only beat by 2   ......

Personally I love it how apart from theris, Sturt1, SturtPeter, Jimmy, heater 31 and one or two others who were here at the start of the season why now have a plethora of Sturt supporters jumping on board but hey that's for another thread........

but anyway I'm inclined to agree with you, I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the year the five is as it is now but not necessary in the current order
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
