Actually yeah, Grocke was pretty decent today. As for Lomas, he doesn't give up that guy. It's the kind of spirit he has that showed when he was told he wouldn't be able to play again before the start of last year.

I have to say after escaping from fuming and irate bad tempered and bad losing Port fans what a game .I went thinking the eagles would lose by ten goals .
And after watching the eagles football club trail in 7 quarters of football today against Port, that includes a shocking seconds side loss.I thought at 3/4 time yeah well we did alright but here comes Port .How wrong I was .
It was the Lomas show after 3/4 time he was everywhere kicking goals and giving away a 25 metre penalty. But it was his pace that git the eagles back into today's game .HE alone out ran the port players left them looking lost.
And cica the captain when he was on the ball in the last quarter he showed guts and determination .
With these two players the side lifted and the backline held strong against the Port onslaught .And in fact the backline players got there run going which brought in other Eagles players.

And just for the port fans out there yes the umpiring was bad but it was bad both ways not against Port. You guys were so far in front and all you did was whine about the umpiring !! Or you were complaining about Hargraves.

Lets face it Port your game started going down hill when number 29 kicked a point from the square .
And the eagle juniors did it today well done young guns thats how you win when your down and out .

LOL @ No.29.

I guess you don't recognise Crows players unless they come from the Eagles like some many of them do (although god knows why!!!).

btw - your No.51 is a sniper and your No.11 has a dirty mouth...

BTW this is the SANFL not the AFL .who gives a you know what about afl listed players .And the way he kicked you could tell he was a crows player.

It might be 2007 but your sounding very much like Port fans from 2006 sitting in the stand blaming everything on the Crows and the Power.

Lets look at the game the Eagles were bad today but they came good .It took the Eagles until 3/4 time to kick ports first 1/4 score (or around it).And after 1/4 time the Eagles kicked 7 goals with no big name Full forward from last year .No CHB from last year .ETC ETC
Port after 1/4 time kicked 4 goals .Port should have had the Eagles on Toast .
Instead Port looked like they were playing for themselves instead of the team all can not be well at Alberton .
The Port fans were all tearing strips of their own players ie Hargraves in the forward line .And then any player who would not kick the ball long into the port forward line was fair game for a mouth full.
Lets also not forget the umpires bad both ways but from a Port fans point of view (sitting near me anyway) they robbed Port all day even when they were 4 goals up and in total control.
And while I am on Port fans to the jokers who had to have ago at me and followed me to my car because the umpires cost you the game get a life and blame the club not the umpires. And yes halfwit I know it was 2 points .
But a win is win and I like tempo Football now :D

The players' name is Ivan Maric, mickyj!!!

Anyway, I'd like to know where you were - I was at the northern side of the headquarters in the last half, and in the last quarter, this big Port fan was ropable. He half turned around once, and I could see his face was red - him exploding was a possibility. The ball went out of bounds right in front of him and Ah Chee was right there. This 'fan' gave him a spray as well and Ah Chee gave him a dirty look. FFS, the Port players were trying - they didn't give up - and this dickhead was berating them something chronic.

Spelly I knew who he was .
I was sitting on the fence just up from the Magpies caravan .Isn't that funny they have to use a caravan at their oval or is the power oval .lol lol

Most of the Port fans where getting red in the face in the last quarter .
And lets call a spade a spade here when the Eagles lost to West by 4 points.it was the eagles fualt that the eagles lost .As their fans we didn't attack wests fans after the loss .So why is it that Port fans can not take a loss or are they in fact dare i say this more Feral than Centrals fans .
And yes by me the Women who sit on the fence were having ago at all the Port Players .You would have thought that Hargraves had killed someone from the way the Port fans hated him today.

And for all the Port fans yes i know the Eagles won by just two points .

It's similar to what was happening to us and Central at both home venues between 2000 and 2004.

What a great gutsy win. Not the most attractive game, but intense and compelling all the way through, and a great effort by youngsters such as Redden, Hier, Guieffra early on, and others. Lomas brilliant early on. Bit disappointed with Symonns and Jarrad. Grocke good. Never thought we were really out the game, although I can understand Port supporters frustration at losing what they thought they had in their grasp.

While it was low-scoring, at least the teams were trying to attack all the time, unlike the low scoring AFL games.

This thread could easily be called Rowston v Eagles. Unbelievable particularly in the second quarter - could name half a dozen blantantly wrong call against us. Then we got a couple of lucky ones from the other umpires in the second half, before they remembered they hadn't paid their usual soft ones against Lindsay, and proceeded to do so at crucial times and spots.

One of our best wins for a long long time. 10 players who didn't play in last years GF, 7 youngsters, with Schwarze and Klun established footballers, and Duncan, who's older but inexperienced at league level.
