You should know when you had McDermott and Hart coaching your lot.

Not to the extent that West and South suffer from despite whatever their ladder postions are!

So blacky is spot on? He would know and so would you as it appears? So if you two know that is the case then post the facts - not unsubstantiated bullsh*t. You have accused my club (along with the 3 clubs) based on what - the fact you missed quality players like Callinan and Allan but paid way over the odds for that fat lazy pie eating Cupido???

You wouldn't have a clue - you two would be balancing your "expert" opinions on bar talk - again probably with the 2 men and dog that frequent your wonderful establishment.

I'm not suggesting any guilt on any clubs behalf but what did Blacky expect - he posted an inflammatory post accusing 4 clubs and I got angry about it in terms of my club. Maybe I should have left the sledge about West and it's crowd out of my response so I apologise for that but that aside, Blacky based hsi post on whispers and is also "warning" the other clubs. Post the facts Blacky not inflammatory wishy washy nothings!

You're in total denial, BPBRP.

I'll back that my knowledge of this issue is as informed as yours any day. It's not just one club that makes these offers to players, as you would well know. When several clubs make an offer and all are told they've signed with another club who has come in late because their offer was 'better', you'd have to be blind not to know what's happened.

Perhaps you're just annoyed that a so-called 'fat, lazy full-forward' kicked 3 and could have had 6 or 7 against you yesterday.

I'd also invite you to re-read my posts and your posts and decide who's been posting reasoned argument and who's been posting abuse.

PS: Good to see some of the North boys back at Westies after the game. Also good to catch up with Dean Howard for a chat.

I think it's become a standard line used by the underachieving teams in the SANFL.
It's easier to point the one finger outward than take heed of the three pointing back for inadequacies and on-field carp!

I wish Norwood had a six figure sum to pay Callinan. We might have only lost by twenty goals with him in the team yesterday.

Even though I used the "strong reaction = GUILTY" line I have to say we all have our sensitive spots when we defend our teams (from a bruised Crows supporter POV on the AFL board :) ) so I'll stick up for BRPBP now and say sometimes we all get sick of certain topics being brought up over and over against our teams. It doesn't always mean the rumours are true, just that we get sick and tired of bad innuendos.

The fact that this keeps coming up at SANFL level might mean that the cap is too low. I think it's around $350,000 per club (?) which seems a bit low to me.

I think the SANFL is just trying to find other evidence which can help identify POSSIBLE breaches. They would never assume what one club offers would be less than the successful bidder's offer - altho let's be honest and say it would be a good guide (we all have our price) which could identify new lines of inquiry.

You can't have it both ways. Either the cap works so everyone should stop whinging or it doesn't and we should scrap it.

Nonsense statement.

Option 3 - or some clubs cheat the cap.

Ha ha - you have to be joking. The fact is he is is overpaid, lazy and he didn't kick 6 or 7 - he only kicked 3. If only....my aunt was my uncle she would have balls. What if all of our behinds point were goals we would have won by more but the fact is they weren't goals but behinds. Pathetic clutching at straws. The fact is he Cupido didn't kick goals that he gets paid big money to kick so does that not sum him up and the way he he plays? If he is the "god like saviour" you guys blow him up to be how come you club is bottom? Even South had the sense to get rid of him. He is way overated and I'm no orphan in thinking that. I doubt any other club would have been stupid enough or desperate enough to grab him this year except West but maybe that was payback for being beaten in late 2005 by South with a better offer for him? $10k more is the figure bandied about re that "deal".

Re-read my posts since the intitial one and you will see that I apologised for my sledge about West and their crowds.

As for your statement about clubs missing out because of a better offer - that happens all the time and clubs like yours (e.g. my previous example with West/South and Cupido) are just having a blind stab in the dark by claiming other clubs must be cheating. I know of 3 examples of players taking less at their present clubs than what they were offered at other clubs: Ryswyk (North / Nwd); Gill (North / Glenelg) and Callinan (CD / Eagles - and in previous years even North) so have you ever thought that they choose their current clubs for other reasons than the clubs allegedly "cheating" to get them. No apparently other reasons wouldn't be in your thought process would they?

Have you ever thought that factors like the professionalism of a club, their most recent ladder positions, off field strength etc might just be factors as to why they signed. For example - How hard a choice would have it been for James Allan to pick North over West, the gulf between the 2 clubs is huge presently.

Do we really need 2 topics about the same post?

Can people please see if there's already a topic up on the front page (I'd forgive them if it was on an old page) before posting exactly the same topic?

Anyway Ive merged these 2 threads, but I'd appreciate if people save me from having to do the work and spend 30 seconds looking themselves first.

And any chance we can keep to the original topic in stead of going on a witch hunt of clubs or start abusing each other and getting completely off topic, I will delete posts and lock this topic if it gets any further off topic (and I don't care if its BRBRPP getting off topic or other's going on a troll fest).

Cheers.

The title of this topic could have been about any article in the paper so you could only know the specific topic to "debate" if you opend this thread topic and read the article link in the first post. Perhaps a more topic specific title rule should apply?

In any case how mnay more salary cap cheating topics do we have to endure when there is not a specific incident to discuss? Some of the responses or "sweeping statement" comments from some people deserve the responses they are getting. I'm quite happy not to comment anymore because if I defend my club then they must be cheating according to some but I'm still trying to find the fact or evidence that supports some of things people post or infer on these types of topics.

Enough said.

Well, we'll give up the cap argument then, but as far as Cupido being fat, I would seriously say that one or two Rooster players looked a bit over their best playing weight yesterday.

(Cringes in anticipation of the wrath of the gentle BPBRP) :D

Other than Ladhams who openly admitted recently on 5AA he is 10 kgs heavier this year than his best when on the Crows list - who else would at North would fit that category?

Christ, I ask to keep the topic on track and 2 out of the 3 posts since discuss overweight footballers.

If people want to start a discussion about overweight players can they start a new topic.

I can't work out why non North supporters are so obsessed with North.
We haven't done anything since 1991.
Christ, I'd hate to think what it'd be like if we were actually successful for a change (not that I'll hold my breath).

Back to topic now please.
