I can remember in the seventies when Westies were the first to wear red shorts in the SANFL. Bob Keddie was the coach and it was when colour tv hit the stage in South Australia. The first game with the red shorts was against Centrals at Elizabeth oval and West did cop some flack from the Centrals supporters that day, but the bay's and a few other teams followed suit later.
