As an aside, when Clay spoke at the Annual Ball/Testimonial Function last night the first thing he said (after thanking those in attendance for coming) was to apologise for the performance of the league side yesterday. Even on a night like that, when everyone was paying tribute to his efforts and committment I thought it spoke volumes about the person that the first thing he said was to address the performance earlier that day and make it clear that it was unacceptable.

Yeah fair call I shouldn't generalise like that.

I understand all the history and the under-achieving but I reckon the club looks on the right track off-field these days and, if everyone can get united behind the club, success should come naturally in time.

It wasn't that long ago that Central won their first final in 23 years and now look at them.

We have a great list (on paper).
We have not had a premiership in 43 yrs.
We got a sniff at finals footy last year for the first time in a generation.
Many of our supporters believe that the club is underperforming and we have probably blown a chance of playing finals footy again this year.
Many opposition supporters are very comfortable with where we have been for the last 40 yrs.
As someone who attends 90% of the games you are embarrassed by performances like yesterdays. Especially when the opposition ridicules you.
You have absolutely no idea what is like to support a club with a ingrained history of underachievement like ours.
So when South people on this site voice their disappointment at such an inept performance like the one we witnessed yesterday you may get the idea that they are no longer comfortable with being every other clubs whipping boy. I think this attitude is a good one. Because one way or the other the current situation is unacceptable.

Very well said Blueandwhite.
I cant believe people are justifying the year so far. "Yeah but you are just out of the 5......yeah but etc..."
NO MORE EXCUSES....THE YEAR SO FAR HAS BEEN PATHETIC!!!!
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Like I said previously Grahaml, correct in theory, not so in reality.
