Because we all remember back in the mid nineties the only Blues who'd regularly turn out to games were the players wives or girlfriends, half a dozen from the blue-rinse set (replete with a shopping bag full of wool and two knitting needles), and Alex.

Pseudo, I'll answer your question because you seem intelligent unlike Graham " I've never been wrong, never lost an argument Dutchy Cornes'

Not Once have I been critical of Glenelg or it's supporters.
Just wondering if they have been the hardest hit supporter base since the inception of the crows.

All I really wanted was the following answered...

I know ALL clubs lost supporters to the COWS but have the bays lost more than other clubs??

Could a sustained run of success bring back some more Bay s supporters??

Just an honest question.
Nothing to do with the amount of floggers waved at each match.
If anything I am disappointed that there isn't MORE bays fans at matches s they have/had such a huge supporter base.
Dickhead brought up the fact that Norwood had such a low crowd figure today.and 1 flogger.
Nothing to do with floggers, I was highlighting how big Glenelg were. He just picks and chooses parts of posts cause he CAN'T BE WRONG THE PRECIOUS SOUL.
My post is based on the demise of crowds (particularly Glenelg) since the inception of the COWS.
Norwood have lost plenty as well, but they still once in a while have had a crowd in excess of 7000.
When did Glenelg participate in a minor round game when the crowd was higher than 6000?

i am guessing that a lot of glenelg people jumped on the cows bandwagon and have forgotten all about where the cows came from, and that is also relevant for most other clubs, but moreso with the bays due to the coach, players etc being part of the first squad etc.

even though i must admit that i follow the crows, it has been stated that a lot of our fans would be more suited at the theatre - an observation i couldnt agree more with cos the last time i went to a game in '05 i thought the atmosphere was shite, this was against collingwood by the way and as i have always done i yelled out some remark to a pies player with no response from those around me, a mate who was with me laughed but the chardonay set didnt see the funny side to it - now i dont reckon that these sort of morons would have been died in the wool sanfl fans before the inception of the crows

so you judge supporter base on floggers?

Our home crowds have been well above SANFL average so other than fishing I have no idea what your on about

Dutchy, I was only using the "floggers"as an example of how big Glenelgs supporter base used to be.

People may grow out of waving floggers but that doesn't mean that clubs have to.
Your crowds still should be much better than what they are and I was merely asking why such a large drop off compared to other clubs.

Funnily enough, quite a few of the previous "floggers" and cheer squad from the Bays 20 years ago (not me) are still going to watch the Bays play every week and many of them are part of the "Snouts", including many of the people behind the Peter Carey record breaking banner.

I was at the bottom of the pole for peter careys 300th game. i remember the pain i was in because the pole was on my foot, then i remembered the pain as the banner ripped down the pole before he got to run through it, luckily we managed to fix it for the great man to run through it...
