Thanks SDK, I guess where I was coming from is that yes we have 4 Centurions and quite possibly about to have 5, but the other clubs like North & Port have Centurions that performed the great feat on more than 3 occasions each. That's where my confusion crept in...that and replying after a bottle of red, three cigars and a hooker! Unfortunately joking about the cigars and the hooker!
Our only multiple Centurion is the high flying man Ken Whelan. He was my idol growing up, I had the number 9 on the guernsey and was always trying to emulate his hanger ability.

Without a doubt Chambo ranks as one of Sturt's greatest FF's in the proud history of the Sturt Footy Club.

ME Jones; Bo Morton; Malcolm Greenslade; Kenny Whelan; Rick Davies; Ian Willmott; Paul Hollis even Clay Chaplin

You might be stretching it* there SP - whilst it will be a great effort I don't think he has had to contend with the quality of defenders that the above listed players had to deal with weekly to achieve their records.

Do you want to have another go at that BPBRB? Chambo has been double and triple teamed for most of the season, and yet he's still on 95 goals.
Where's your leading forward at? He's up there mate!

Are you saying that you don't have quality defenders? :D

I'm not having a crack - maybe I should have been a tad clearer. All I'm saying his achievement in the curent era compared to the other FF's who don't even get near the "ton" is a fantastic achievement.

What my point was that the great names SP mentioned from the past had in terms of where the SANFL was back then compared to now, a much tougher environment to achieve what they did. It is difficult to make a case that the standard of the SANFL then and now is equal but that doesn't detract from Chambers effort as I said, given his feat will possibly one day be or is indeed now a very rare feat based on how the comp and the game has evolved since the Crows came in.

Fair call BPBRB. They are very different competitions now. Chambers is a very good full forward for us and obviously the best in the league at present by a fair way but to put him up there with the like of Davies, Greenslade, etc. is not correct.

...and if he does, will he spit the dummy again at the end of the game if he gets towelled up by the "unfashionable" Sam Rudolph?

Thats a fair call BP, but that said one could also make a case for the current environment being more difficult to some other era's, particularly around the early 80's when the midfield players were arguably more talented, and the games were regulalrly shootouts, whereas today we've seen that AFL style influence of closing the play down at times.

The fact that he's so far in front of other contenders is a massive achievement (which I know you weren't dismissing) and very worthy of seeing him lumped in with other luminaries who have managed to crack the ton in the minor round imho.

Go Chambo, good luck this weekend.
Hope there's a good crowd tomorrow, it should be a cracker. A chance to see 100 goals kicked and with Glenelg making the finals for the first time in years, congratulations, there's no excuse not to be there. Solid 4-5000+.
