Late at night toss and turn and dream of what i need

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

I heard they fought at Gallipoli

Have 2 more SANFL premiership medals than all of the north heroes running around at the moment.

Looks as though we'll have to throw about half of the English sporting literature into the waste paper basket as apparently sports people are no longer eligible to be called "heroes" for their sporting feats alone.
Got anything else to whinge about people? Aerie hit the nail on the head "heroes are whoever you want them to be". I have heard kids describe their fathers as heroes for just being there to help them through life. "Milestones for 2 Sturt Heroes" is fine by me as a headline, they played a huge part in bringing the TS back to Unley after our club was down, out for the count and the vultures had begun to circle for the scraps. Heroes IMO.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Slightly on topic and slightly off topic but if anyone wants to know what being a hero is all about then I suggest every footy follower read the Jason McCartney story, a truly moving book that puts all of our lives into perspective.

mcdermot and carey are the real heroes on the sanfl. Legion of Justice.

Wasnt there a batman and robin that played for port a few years ago, again true heroes. How pathetic?

 Where I have mentioned anything about North players being heroes? You only made that comment to get a bite?

I had a go at the use of the word "heroes" to describe them, as it is a little over the top in my opinion. I mentioned nothing about them not being great players, great servants of Sturt etc but clearly you can't read , you probably hoped I called North heroes but I didn't but it still didn't stop you having a pathetic anti North crack?

I can't speak for the others taking the mickey out of the 'hero' thing ... (Sturt supporters have to admit you set yourselves up sometimes :D )

But, for the record, I think both guys have been great players and great servants of the SFC

Well done on 150 games

I won't apologise for my emotional Subject heading

I had the great pleasure of sitting in the Box with the timekeepers and Zac Millbank on Sat., covering the game for both Life FM 107.9 and 5AA.

I was totally stoked not only for both the Nelson and Sheedy families but for the two Champion players too.

It was my great pleasure to have a drink with them on Saturday night.

Go U Blues!! :) :)
