well you must admit there is more power gear than magpie gear being worn.this would also apply to crows over other sanfl teams.

Actually I completely disagree with this statement. There is some, but it is far less this season than it has been in the past.

Fair enough I have a lot Port supporting friends/coworkers and one excuse for not wearing black and white is you can not buy it.Sorry what about the PM caravan!!.

Exactly, the van is there every week. No excuse.

I think the baby bonus has helped with people now able to afford to buy some genuine SANFL magpie gear...

hahahaha As someone who lives in the heartland of Port Adelaide you are more than likely correct.

Have heard the same thing JMO, this is a disgrace!
And to think Port Power are still charging The Magpies $3k a week to use Alberton yet can't help them out to pay their players...Joke!

WTF!!!!

So your saying the Power should help the Magpies out becasue they have finacial problems....

Maybe the should help Sturt out too given their financial problems last year, my club could do with some finacial help as well...

It would set a very dangerous precendent if that should occur....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Why should the Power help pay the Magpies - two seperate clubs and that would be clearly rorting the salary cap - just goes to show big over spends on interstate recurits who grab the money and run should not be done unless you actually have the money to pay them.

Now if you said drop the rent - that would be different! Shows you how much the Power hate their poor SANFL cousins!

Now the PAMFC bring back:

The Bob McLean can collection appeal they ran years ago or

The Tim Ginever posters with the $2 appeal?

Of course Port Adelaide (Power) are not allowed to help thier 'poorer cousins',it would be against the SANFL's beliefs.

Of course we must be panalised for being good enough and strong enough to enter a team into the AFL.

Truth be told the only way that Port Adelaide should have entred a team into the AFL is without a 'poorer cousin' in the SANFL .IMHO

But that didn't and will not happen so lets not let them help anyone .Have they paid off their fee to get into the afl yet?

Did Glenelg ask to have eight players, coach, fitness guru, property steward, team manager, trainers, board members, sponsors pinched by the Adelaide football club in 1990 follwing a certain clubs trechery?? Should we be penalised for the being the next strongest SANFL club in 1990 that we formed the backbone of the Adelaide Football Club??

Have we asked for assistance from our "cousin" or the SANFL????

I'm not that stupid to say that we are as close as Port Magpies and Port Power are but where do you stop if Port Power start giving handouts to the Port Magpies...

Just as there is a strong correlation between the weakening of the Port Magpies following the Powers entry into AFL so to can our demise be linked to the unplanned and rushed entry of the Adelaide FC into the AFL.

At least you had 15 months to plan for it, we had 15 weeks...

If I could be so bold to suggest to Port Magpie supporters maybe some of those chickens that flew the coop in July 1990 are coming home to roost

Many of my posts on here Tassie, when discussing the Power/Magpies realtionship, heritage ra ra ra,have often stated I understand why the SANFL put resrictions on the financial side of the relationship.Totally understand, dont have to agree, but I acknowledge the fact that the money the Power generates could have led to a cash cow for the Magpie side of things and the SANFL would still have been, even more so,dominated by the Alberton crowd.

In the interest of the SANFL as a whole, the right thing was done, but I dont like the effect it has had on my Magpie.

And likewise I acknowledge that following the Crows, Port naturally deserved the right to enter the AFL.

Whilst I admit I was initally drawn in by the hype of Adelaides first few years maturity has made me realise the effect on the one club that means more to me than any other. Yes I'm a member of the Crows but I hate and detest the effect of the AFL on MY club Glenelg. Hence why I'm passionate any money generated by the AFL clubs based in Adelaide have to be evenly distributed across all nine clubs and the affiliated leagues not based on any historical or "familair" links that may exist.

Hear hear! I am suprised then that you continue to support thre Crows and the AFL by signing up each year. I NEVER paid any membership to the Power, I have only ever paid for entry to maybe 2 or 3 of their matches (usually got in on friends memberships or corporate).

However I will willingly fork out $180ish each year for my Portonian level membership at PAMFC.

AFL does not need me, and I do not need it.

Port Magpies need me as much as I need them...

Why have a season ticket to the crows then ????

get rid of it and become a sponsor of the bays. best thing i ever did was become a sponsor at centrals.

fact is Port power could do more to help the maggies. They simply dont care.

always said that port would sell its grandmother if it could make $250 out of it.Have always believed Port Adlaide would have no dramas with eating their own . Its stuff like this that proves the point.

If Port magpies are paying $3K in rent to use alberton.

How much do Port Power pay to use AAMI ????
