My concern is the SANFL competition 8)

I hear talk of NT or TAS joining our comp & that REALLY concerns me.

To be looking 1,2 even 5 years into the future is VERY narrow minded, in my view.

The SANFL should be looking 15 to 20 years into the future.

If (as has been mentioned) the AFL decide to go back to having a Reserves Competition, then where does that leave OUR competition ?

What will the structure be ?
Where will the players come from ?
How will it survive as a SEPERATE entity ?

Clubs such as SAFC & WAFC (in their current state) are in danger of collapse.
As are others, including my own.

To simply 'put your head in the sand' (or as another quite artistically put it, 'up your arse') is 'childish' & 'inappropriate'.

Making 'personal attacks' is simply typical of the 'head up one's own arse' supporter.

If WE as supporters of the competition as a whole, sit back & watch our competition go down the toilet (whether they are our own club or not), we are in danger loosing the competition all together.

Why would the AFL go back to a reserves comp???

Doesn't make sense, would cost them WAY TOO MUCH $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

They can only see themselves so why would they go reserves? Its not like they would try and destroy our comp, we provided them with an almost limitless number of class players

The school of thought is that if they had a reserves competition that they could direct what postions there players play in which at present they cannot. As it stands the AFL players that play in the VFL take their instructions from the VFL club, to the betterment of that club, not their AFL club. Some clubs feel that this is to their loss and a reason why interstate sides are winning the Grand Final so often.

LEH, why do you keep going on about South Adelaide being in danger of collapsing?
They're not even close.
There's only one club with a cash flow problem these days and its neither of those 2.
Club's dont collapge because of 1 bad year on the field or a dry run of few years without a premiership.
If they did Torrens and Woodville would have died before they ever merged, Norwood would have fallen over and Geelong wouldn't be sitting top of the AFL table.
South are actually doing more work with their community and juniors than most other clubs are doing at the moment.
Why don't you do a little bit more study of a subject before making ridiculously ill informed comments?
