[quote="Punk Rooster"] Quick, get some medical help to Oval Ave. EHL is obviously standing out in the middle of Woodville Oval, & is suffering extreme heat stroke!

I'm not the dillusional one punk rooster. Please don't tell me you think your rooters are a serious threat. You've been there the last two seasons and folded under the pressure. Tell me why is 2006 going to be any different. To take a quote from Alan Stewart " North won't win a premiership under A.Jarman" obviously this quote has been altered to suit the circumstance. I think an ambulance is needed to take punk rooter from prospect straight to glenside. Please he can't be serious can he.

Sigh, what does North have to do with the Eagles 2006 prospects?
You make a post about the Eagles, people reply with their opinions about the Eagles, you disagree and start going on about North.
There's other threads about North if you wish to tell us your opinion on their 2006 prospects.
Just for your info, saying the Eagles willmake the top 4 is not writing them off, its when you say a side will be in the bottom 4 is when you are writing them off. You'll find the top 4 usually play in the finals.

I've been saying that myself for quite some time. But even R.Fuller must admit 2006 is a golden opportunity for the Eags to taste premiership glory. Personally I think if he can't deliver by the end of next season the WWTFC board should look for a replacement. "I'm available if they want me. I couldn't do any worse than mr Fuller".

Surely wedgie if you are rating the Eags fourth in line you must be rating North, Centrals and Port in front of us. Hey it's not what I would think is common sense. Centrals have lost a hell of a lot of experience, North are still unproven in the tense battle of finals competition and Port well they always recruit well but have delivered very little over the last six years where as the mighty Eags have played in four out of the last six GF's although for all that toil we have received no reward. But hey I respect your opinion man. 8)

I'm rating the Eagles in the top 4, not necessary 4th. Anything can happen, injuries may yet decide how the top 4 eventually pans out.
As for North, I'm still not convinced they're a premiership threat until they get a quick full back. It got exposed last year against players like Schell and Watts and since then we've lost Gilham and Roe our two regular full backs. I was a lot more confident until the Rookie/Preaseason draft.
Centrals are still the favs, there's no doubt about that.

Wedge is right about the top four being way ahead of the rest though..there could be a couple of wins break by the end of the year betweeen 4th and 5th but I reckon it will be the Redlegs sneaking in to the five to join the new 'big four', even if it will probably mean only making up the numbers.

What can you tell me about the following

Postby Ruck Legend » Sun Jan 22, 2006 8:13 pm

2000 - Central def Eagles
2001 - Central def Eagles
2002 - Sturt [/b]def Central
2003 - Central def West
2004 - Central def Eagles
2005 - Central def Eagles.

Hey Eagles when you guys can beat Centrals you will win a flag. Watch the 2002 Grand Final and see how it is done.

Anyway for this year, I reckon the year is wide open, yes Centrals have lost a few players but we don't really know what there replacements will be like.
It's a very open year but here is my tip.
1. Central
2. Port
3. Eagles
4. North
5. Sturt
6. Norwood
7. Glenelg
8. South
9. West

I know I am a Sturt man but the above is my fair and honest opinion.

Good on ya Ruck Legend. Your just another sturt supporter who's living on past glories. What have you done in the last three years. We have at least made two GF's. You will be very lucky if you make the top five in 2006.

Wrong, if you're only as good as you're last game then the Eagles, Port, North, Sturt, South, West and Glenelg are all losers and Norwood and Central are the only winners.

eaglehaslanded wrote:The Eags finally look like they have the team to beat. With a set of twins who are supposed to be just as good if not better than the Gowans at doggie land, all Eagles supporters should be excited as it looks like we're going to the promised land, finally we should see premiership celebrations at Oval Ave. With Centrals losing years of experience it looks as though North will be our only true challenge but even they are not proven in the heat of finals. Bring on 2006 I can't wait. What do you all think?:D

I should have paid attention to the whole post the first time but seeing as I have "had a few" today and I am in a jovial non confrontaional mood:

You said "Supposed to be just as good as if not better than the Gowans"

This based on what? - Despite the fact that the Gowans have the score on the board and these twins have done what.........ZIP!

You said "Finally we should see premiership celebrations"

The question SANFL football followers will ask in response: "What year will that be and will be alive to see it?"

You said "With Centrals losing years of experience"

And of course the Eagles have lost no experience but have recruited some untried gun twins who are as good as the Gowans, a couple of "ressie" players from North and Dabrowski. Hmmm - experience!

It is no wonder the Centrals supporters serve it up to you Eagles supporters - and why your team is mentally destroyed before the first ball is bounced! I can hear the howls of laughter from Elizabeth when they read this "shite"

Still cannot knock your undying, one eyed, parochial passion for your hybrid club!
