Surely common sense will prevail and this game will be moved to 1) Saturday arvo 2) Sunday arvo or 3) Friday night - SURELY!

Why?

It has been scheduled for Saturday night for about 8 or 9 months.

HHO gets larger crowds on Saturday night than a Saturday afternoon and any other time would now impact on training/recovery sessions planned by both clubs.

Good idea about moving it, its currently going against a Crows game at Aami which is very crucial.
Should move it to Friday night at Adelaide Oval, win/win as you'd get a bigger crowd and it would give both clubs more experience at the ground where a majority of the finals will be played.
Heaps of people I know would go if that was the case but not one would even consider it at the moment.
Probably a bit late now and that would actually require some ingenuity which we rarely see.

Sturt supporters don't travel to Elizabeth anyway, generally speaking, so that shouldn't have a bearing on the scheduling.

Dogs make a big stack of cash from night games and would need a big stack of cash from the SANFL or SACA to consider shifting it to Adelaide Oval. On top of that is the late notice, if nothing else, screws with both clubs preparation. I am anticipating one of the games of the season this Saturday night and wouldn't like to see that jeopardised.

Only 'cause we like having wheels on our cars and a stereo to listen to the match results after the game, even still a car to get into and get the hell out of the joint!

Blah, blah, blah.

People have been playing that record for years. I'm glad to see vinyl's still in fashion.

Got any Beatles?

I should have known someone would have fun with that bit, Jimmy.

I understand the talk about moving the game to Friday night to get a bigger crowd, and the talk of moving to AO, but there are issues which just cannot be denied. The issue of all the money the CDFC would lose as a result being a major one (and we need to pay Callinan's salary somehow!), but there's also workplaces for reserves and league players one Friday that would be inconvenienced at late notice, plus plenty of people who would have expected to go to the game who suddenly would find themselves missing out. The dogs made a commitment to play Saturday night games to appeal to a new group of people and the club needs to remain true to that commitment if they want continued support.

The crowd will still be a good one, and while it may not be as big as it would have been without a crows clash it simply isn't worth the cost of moving the game, or the inconvenience of changing time.

They really had nothing to play for, all the boys are waiting for the finals hopefully they will fire up and lift their work rate then. Noodles showed some good signs so did Switala.

I heard there is bingo down at centrals on a friday night so friday is out of the question
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

There's bingo every night except Saturday and Monday I believe and the money it raises is staggering! Plus it provides a friendly environment for locals to have some fun. Always giving at the Ponderosa...

How many of those were sturt supporters Apache? I recall being disappointed at their showing. If they really travelled to Elizabeth, we would have got 8,000 + quite easily.

I'd be at this game if it was moved to another time as I'm going to the Adelaide game. I missed our previous encounter with the Doggies and was looking forward to it. Hamra crowds have been the largest of the league this year but I think they'll be lucky to get 4000 for this game, especially if Roo is playing For Adelaide. Play it on Sunday and let everyone two great games of SA footy.
