Not sure why the rule would need to be tested? The rule does not allow anyone to factor in contribution toward football development (whether or not that is correct is a different debate - I would argue it should be a major factor).

They are just kids - why anyone would pay $5k for a junior footballer is beyond me.

I recall one player who transferred from Centrals to Port as a 14 or 15 year old and by age 18 he was playing lawn bowls instead of footy. May as well drop the $5k into the pokies back in the club room.

Some stats on ROI for transferred junior footballers would be interesting, I reckon they would show that it just isn't worth bothering with.

I know that Club A do not feel that they should have to pay $5k for them, but will probably have to if they wish to keep them on the list. And yes, Club B will probably put it towards pokies...

Norwood used to send kids to Kings College when Bob Oatey taught there - that's how they recruited Phil Carman from Edenhope in Victoria as a junior.

$15-20k? how would the senior players feel about a club spending that much on just one unproven junior, when most established senior players, say 7-15th on the list, would be earning that much at most. And then all the 2's players earning much less?

McCabe's farm would have been closer to Elizabeth than Sacred Heart
