Can Schwartz, Alleway, White and Dodman co-exist?

I rate Schwartz, when his head is switched on...so that is a handy pick-up.

White is a handy SANFL player.

Ackland is a hack, and will now be known as Hackland.

Why man? will be the question shouted from the boundary line if he turns out to be shite.

I would think that White and Schwartz will play in defence. Can only see one of them playing fwd if we lost say Stewart to the draft. Dodman may well be second ruck to Ackland and resting in the pocket to support Stewart and Alleway.

BTW - White is more than just handy at SANFL level.

Who knows how Ackland will go? At least at this point it is better to have signed someone with experience as ruck is a deficient area at North.

Time will tell but at least we are on the board with recruits so far!

The mobility of the Roosters big blokes is exceptional, plenty of versatility there and I can see a few headaches for opposition matchup's among them.

Very imposing looking spine too.

BTW Dreb, how do you rate Stewarts draft chances? (I really rate the kid from the times I've seen him)

Schwartz in defence I hope your new coach works on his around the ground kicking .He had a knack of being in the clear with free players and passing to the other team over and over and over again.

Did you see the rest of our teams disposals last year in most games??? He will be no orphan there!!!

CP - my mail is that Stewart is a bigger chance than Dodman to go in the draft. I hope he doesn't go. Dodman really needs a full pre-season and good performances before he should go IMO but 6 ft 10 project players are appealling to AFL clubs. Better he spends time with us than languish in the VFL which I don't think will help him.

As for TB's crack re the Salary Cap - we have plenty to spend (wit til you see our overall profit when it is announced) and we have off loaded quite a few high paid players since the start of this season so we would be well inside the acceptable limits!

oh and if you are worried about paperbags maybe Grima could put one over his mouth so no one can hear him before he shoots of his mouth and fires up the opposition

Given that's what the Power were looking for when they drafted Cockshell I wonder if they'll try again with Dodman, similar sounding projects?

drebin, may I ask what is the magic formula that makes North players come to the Club for the love of the guernsey at bargain payments, but when they leave they are highly paid players, freeing up a lot of salary cap space?

Will be interesting to see how Schwartz goes in his new surroundings. I know the Doggies rated him and were trying to get him on board. Cain Ackland is an interesting one. His skills are shocking but is a good tap ruckman so kind of temporarily replacing O'Hara with a like for like player. I saw Ackland tear a few VFL games apart and he can go up forward and kick goals as well, one game booting 8 from full forward.

I'm stating the obvious in saying North really underperformed last year but it seems like they are heading on track to be one of the bigger improvers in 2009. I've seen Whyman on TV in a couple of VFL games in the past and if it's the same guy I'm thinking of, he will be very handy for the Roosters. Very very quick crumbing forward, much like Matt Campbell before going to the Kangaroos, funnily enough, where Whyman's come from. I think he is capable of kicking 40 to 50 goals as a small forward.

Interesting in the "departures" list from North Adelaide's web site there is no Luke Ivens. I thought I read on here or on he Roost that he was off overseas for a year. Has that been confirmed but not announced or was it just one of those pre season "rumours" that we all hear ? With North getting Whyman, I wonder if there will still be any whispers about McConnell coming from Glenelg to the Prospect ? Considering they are both crumbing small forwards, maybe the rumour is regarding another Glenelg forward who missed out on the GF ?

Funny how that works.
