The 'problem', not that there was a problem really cos it was all so funny, was the way they were talking to my wife, who was with her family.
Just read my original post on it and you'll see what I was originally discussing.

Funny the teenage girls supporting the doggies sitting near me at one stage should've been talking to the Eagles girls then Dogwatcher they also looked like they were looking at picking up a footballer !!!!

But were they acting feral? That was more my point - than the way they were dressed. And how appearances can be deceiving.
But yes, it's funny how some girls dress when they go to the footy. Cracks me up to see them all preened and ready for a night out disco dancing at AAMI Stadium!

Point taken mate
As a dad with a teen daughter its called hormones !!!!!!! Not sure when if ever they move on from that stage
As both our posts might prove

I hear you, DW. They are everywhere - in all clubs.

I get embarassed when supporters of whatever team *I* am for (Eagles, or otherwise) throw insults in the losers faces.

Mind you, I moved after half time - I was on the outer wing and the dick behind me (Centrals supporter, but that isn't the point) was the most illogical **** I've ever heard at the footy. I hate the fact I feel the need to justify decisions et al to someone who doesn't know what they're saying. At one point, to try and "keep it down" in the event that he was yelling so damn loud because I (an Eagles supporter) was right in front of him, I turned around and said "Gees, Slade's been ok but how many times has Wilbur touched the ball??"

To which he replied "Wilbur??"

"Wilson"

"Ahh, I didn't know that was his nickname"

Hehe :)
Hate to get technical Diss but his nicknames Whopee, his old man was Wilbur, although "Wilbur" seems to get attached to anyone with the last name Wilson. I think even the Wilson at the Power gets "Wilbur".

Well thought I'd chime in. It's been a very long and exhausting week, with all the preperations for GF day and all that. Training and then banner making Thursday night the grand final parade in rundle mall Saturday. Had been down at AAMI from 9:30am in the carpark with some good mates enjoying some bevvies, walk into the stadium and the first thing I hear from some knob was that the talk was vinnie rugolo had walked out on the club to be soon aligned to another club a little further down port rd and that gav and timmy had both been withdrawn from the game. My first thought was oh no but then I thought I'd just wait and see. Out onto the ground to hold up the banner and the Eags runout no gav but timmy was there so I felt bad for scratcha but still was thinking very positive before game time. Games on we're out of the blocks early with 4 points and then CD kick a quick goal, we then respond with one of our own only to see them kick another couple and my immediate thought was oh no here we go again. Then to my pleasure we stand tall, play hard, tough, dour footy to hold them against the breeze to hold a 19 point lead at half time. Out to the car for a couple of half time bevvies and a chance to dissect the first half with mates. Got to say was very happy to actually have the lead at half time in a GF for a change but had the knowledge that was still a lot of hard work needed yet. back to the game in time to see the bounce to start the third and to my surprise we proceed with an avalanche of goals to all but seal the game at 3qtr time. Another couple of early goals in the 4th and the party behind the southern goals had well and truly started. CD then kick a few belated goals and siren goes and we're celebrating our first premiership in thirteen years. Back to the club to start consuming far too many bevvies with the knowledge I had an 8:30 start the morning. But what the hell i guess it was long overdue and i was going to enjoy it because lord only knows when we'll get another. That having being said I too thought that Cica was BOG closely followed by Skippy and Coops. Enjoying the celebrations at oval ave loved Passas rant about that ex bays coach's article in the paper. Absolute solid gold at it's best. In closing I just want to say well done to my Eagle boys, long overdue and well deserved. Enjoy it boys and party hard. I know i'll still be celebrating for a few weeks to come, Damn pitty I have to work tomorrow otherwise I'd be down to see the chimney unveiling. I've gotta say i'm looking forward to those colours being reversed. :D GO THE MIGHTY EAGLES!!!

Apologies if it sounded rude but I actually meant it as a compliment as it was a good post but a few would have been turned away by the lack of spaces and it deserved more people reading it, I think its a visual thing.

Mind you if North had won the flag I wouldn't even be able to put a word or sentence together let alone a paragraph!

Dunno if this has been mentioned but why was a Burley ball being used to kick to the northern end and a Sherrin for the southern end? I've only ever seen the 2 brands being used in interstate games - weird...

The Eagles always had the Burley going with the breeze. Dogs had the Sherrin. Now, is it popular opinion that Burleys are a bit lighter and 'floatier' than a Sherrin? If so, would it not travel further with a strong gale behind it? Thus explaining Torrens' easy win!

Seriously though, why did they have 2 brands of ball in the first place?

I've read somewhere than North and Central use the Sherrin brand and the other clubs use the Burley brand (or vice versa) so each club must provide a ball for each new quarter? Not really sure on that though.

I htink you'll find it is a half, or it used to be. The umps prefer Burleys as they are lighter and bounce better.

We used to have Faulkners and at the first game at Noralunga our Faulkner ball went over the back so South sent out a Burley ball eaarly in the 3rd quarter when I ran out a Faulkner to Colin, he told me to piss off, i reminded him it is our half to have the ball of our choice he still told me to **** off......

Burleys are cheaper, hence why most clubs use them now.....

If that is true it's still weird to me that they didn't swap balls over at half time so both teams could kick towards goal, with wind advantage being what it was (ie pretty strong), with both types of ball.

Actually I reckon it was a Sherrin inthe 1st & 3rd terms (which discounts my WWT victory theory) and a Burley in the 2nd and 4th.
