Yes, probably right, cp, but no doubt it gets more and more attractive as the bidding goes on.

You'd hope he stays with his original club.

It's keeping me awake at night :? (I gotta find a healthier obsession than footy lol)

I got a bad feeling about this one.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he would attract a transfer fee if going to another SANFL club (Glenelg played hardball with Phil Raymond when Norwood tried to recruit him last year as he was still tied to us - delisted off an AFL list so still tied to his SANFL club)

AS I understand it transfer fees are included in the cap too (Glenelg had to allow for the McCormack fee in 2008 even though he didn't play a game)

Happy to be corrected on this if wrong. If it is the BC I think it is one would think he would be pretty hefty transfer fee too

Wish I was in a position to completely overrate myself and stick a massive Bryce tag on my head.

I don't think North ever replaced Dean Howard and he was a humungous loss for them IMHO ... Not saying Bryce is an identical player, but he would bring a lot of like qualities.

Man I hope our club does the right thing and keeps a hold of him!! [-o<

He is a good player but I wouldn't want Norwood to pay enough to cut out 2 up and coming kids to keep him.
I don't think he is so good he should command a really large chunk of the salary cap.

Bryce is definitely hard mate, perhaps in a different manner to Howard though ... Howard could be an enforcer and go out of his way to intimidate, whereas Bryce is just hard as at the contest and doesn't have the size DC had.

I know I could be on my own here, but I genuinely believe a full season from a fit BC could see him go very close to a Magarey Medal.

Guys, keep the the thread on topic please, people look at the "2009 Recruits to SANFL Clubs" thread to see who's picked up some recruits.
Cheers.

PS Well done to North for keeping their members and others informed of players they've signed. It'd be great if some other clubs who have made signings could join them in doing this.

How ???

Via their web site ???

I haven't seen anything on their but I only had a brief look the other night...

The only "recruit" i have heard about for Port Magpies so far is Isaac Weetra coming home after being delisted by Melbourne in the AFL. I read that in the messenger press.

Any other recruits or retirements (apart froim Tom Carr, Daniel Hargraves and Mark Clayton which is on the website) that we should know about Macca ???

Speaking of Port Adelaide Magpies...

Aaron Fiora has just been delisted by St. Kilda after 68 games with the club and 78 with Richmond after being traded in 2004. He was a number 3 draft pick in 1999.

Will he nominate for the draft, get picked up by another AFL club (I doubt it) and will Port try and lure him back home to SA. I think he would be a good player at SANFL level.

In my opinion this year there have been a higher than usual number of delistees who still have a good deal to offer at SANFL (or in some cases AFL) level. And with all of the hype about the upcoming GC17 'compromised drafts', clubs are obsessively loading up on youth and very very few if any of them will be re-drafted.

Should be a bumper recruiting year for SANFL clubs.

I think the Eagles were one of the first clubs to announce signings for 2009 - Ken McGregor and Jay Cheep (Geelong VFL).
